Abstract

ÖZET

Trombositoz sıklıkla rastlantısal olarak karşımıza çıkan ancak ayırıcı tanısı önemli olan bir bulgudur. Modern hematoloji

analizatörleri güvenilir tam kan sayımı sağlasa da; mikrositler, mikrosferositler, parçalanmış eritrositler,

parçalanmış lökositler, lipid damlacıkları ve bakteriler varlığında otomatik trombosit sayımı için ciddi zorluklar

oluşturur. Böyle durumlarda trombosit sayısını değerlendirmede periferik yayma önem kazanmaktadır. Makalemizde

alfa talasemi taşıyıcılığına bağlı yalancı trombositoz görülen olgumuzu sunduk.

ABSTRACT

Thrombocytosis is often a coincidental finding but its differential diagnosis is important. Although the modern

haematology analyzers provide reliable full blood counts, automated platelet counting creates serious

difficulties in the presence of microcytes, microspherocytes, fragmented erythrocytes, fragmented leukocytes,

lipid droplets and bacteria. In such cases, peripheral blood smear is important for evaluating the platelet count.

We presented a case with pseudo-thrombocytosis due to alpha thalassemia trait in our article.
