Veteriner Fitoterapide Yara Bakımında Yaygın Olarak Kullanılan Bitkiler

Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 73 - 79, 31.12.2021

Abstract

Plants Widely Used in Wound Care in Veterinary Phytotherapy

Year 2021, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 73 - 79, 31.12.2021

Abstract

Phytotherapie is an approach widespread employed in wound healing. Aloe vera, Tea tree oil, St. John's wort, Bitter gourd, Rosemary, Calendula, Green tea, Gotu Kola plants are often used in phytotherapy. Previous studies have reported that the extracts obtained from plants have antibacterial effects, increasing collagen synthesis, stimulating the proliferation phase of wound healing and fibroblasts, thereby accelerating wound healing. With the developments in the field of phytotherapy, most plants have been prepared and commercially available. There are some advantages and disadvantages compared to the employed preparations, which are mostly applied oral or topical. This review was written in order to provide information about the properties of widely used phytotherapeutic plants in veterinary medicine field.
