Talcott Parsons’ın Düşüncesinde Pratik-Rasyonellik Tasarımı

Abstract

Yirminci yüzyılın en önemli düşünürlerinden biri olan Talcott Parsons, pratik-rasyonellik tasarımına toplumsal eylemi inşa ederek başlar. Bireylerin eylemlerini motive eden unsurlar arasında modern hayatta dahi değerlerin ön planda olduğunu öne sürmesi onun toplumsal eylem teorisinin özünü oluşturur. Bu bakımdan Parsons’ın sosyolojisi uzun soluklu bir kapitalizm savunuculuğunun hikayesidir denebilir. Mesela düşünür, adeta vahşi kapitalizmin izlerini silmeye çalışan bir tavırla modern toplumun ulaştığı ekonomik gelişme, bireysel özgürlük, demokratik yaşam, biçimsel hukuk gibi unsurları ön plana çıkarır. Bu aşamada o, kapitalizmin sosyo-kültürel hayatı pasifize edip Batılı bireyin maruz kaldığı psikolojik-patolojik problemleri göz ardı eder. Buna rağmen Parsons’ın toplumsal bütünleşme kurgusu ve bunun dini motiflerin egemen olduğu kültürel sistem ile başarılabileceği vurgusu önemlidir. Bu bağlamda çalışmada Parsons’ın toplumsal düzeni sistemleştirmede en önemli dinamiği olan toplumsal eylem konusu işlenecek, onun karmakarışık sosyolojisinden temel düşüncelerine odaklanıp günümüz toplumlarının acil ihtiyaç duyduğu pratik-rasyonellik olgusu ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılacaktır. Bu süreçte Parsons’ı derinden etkileyen Weber’e çokça başvurulacaktır.
