Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

The articles submitted to the journal must not be in the process of evaluation in another journal, have not been accepted for publication or have not been published, and should be prepared in accordance with scientific and ethical rules. Authors are responsible for the compliance of the articles with scientific and ethical rules. (http://www.icmje.org/about-icmje/faqs/conflict-of-interest-disclosure-forms/). The protocol of clinical trials should be approved by the ethics committee. In all studies conducted on humans, the “Methods” section should include a sentence stating that the study was approved by the relevant committee or that the study was carried out in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki Principles (www.wma.net/e/policy/b3.htm). should be stated in the signed text.

It will assume that the articles submitted to JOURNAL OF BIOTECHNOLOGY AND STRATEGIC HEALTH RESEARCH are made in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki, that corporate ethical and legal permissions have been obtained and will not accept responsibility in this regard. If the "Animal" item is used in the study, the authors must state that they protect animal rights in their studies and obtain approval from the ethics committees of their institutions in line with the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (www.nap.edu/catalog/5140.html) principles in the "Method" section of the article. . As a result, ethics committee approval should be obtained for clinical and experimental studies on humans and animals that require an ethics committee decision, and this approval should be indicated and documented in the article with the "Ethics Committee Approval Number".

Studies that require Ethics Committee approval


Ø All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants by using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques.

Ø The use of humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,

Ø Clinical studies on humans,

Ø Research on animals,

Ø Retrospective studies in accordance with the law on the protection of personal data,

Moreover;

Ø Indicating that an “informed consent form” has been received in case reports,

Ø Obtaining and specifying permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others,

Ø Statement that copyright regulations are complied with for the intellectual and artistic works used.

Retrospective Ethics Committee permission for publications produced from studies and thesis completed in previous years;

Retrospective Ethics Committee approval is not required for articles that were published before 2020, produced from master's/doctoral studies (must be specified in the article), submitted an application for publication to the journal in the previous year, and were accepted but not yet published.

• The issue of compliance with publication ethics in journals should not be left to the sole responsibility of the authors, the path to be followed in journal publication ethics should be clearly defined.

• Whether ethics committee approval and/or legal/special permission is required for articles to be published in journals should be stated in the article. If it is necessary to obtain these permissions, it should be clearly presented from which institution, on what date and with what decision or issue number.

• If the study requires the use of human and animal subjects, international declaration, guide, etc. should be declared appropriate. It is important that the studies on the mentioned issues are completed within this year and that the deficiencies, if any, are corrected as soon as possible.

All rights of the articles published in the journal belong to the journal. Authors are not paid royalties for articles. In addition to the article, it is obligatory to include a document stating that the above conditions are based on explorer scans, by the Head of the Department (Science), Chief Physician or the Chief of Service, to allow working in the archive. For prospective clinical studies, Ethics Committee approval should be obtained in accordance with the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 29.01.1993 and numbered 21480. The ethical responsibility of the articles in the journal belongs to the authors.

Among the articles sent to the journal, the articles that are deemed appropriate to be sent to the referee are sent to the referees who are experts in the subject. In order for the article to be published, both referees must give a positive opinion. If changes are deemed necessary, after the requested changes are made by the authors within 15 days, the publication is reviewed again, spelling and grammatical errors are corrected by the editorial board without touching the content of the article.

Statistical analysis is often required to support the result. Statistical analysis should be done in accordance with the rules for reporting statistical data in medical journals (Altman DG, Gore SM, Gardner MJ, Pocock SJ.
