Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Ethical Principles for Authors

Authors who wish to submit a manuscript to the İzmir Bakırçay University Faculty of Law Journal are expected to observe the highest ethical standards. In this regard, they must comply with the recommendations of the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors), the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, and the Higher Education Institutions Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive of Türkiye.
By submitting a manuscript to the İzmir Bakırçay University Faculty of Law Journal, authors are deemed to have undertaken to adhere to these ethical principles.

Authors are required to:

1. Submit only their own original work to the journal.

2. Ensure that individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the work are listed as authors. In multi-author submissions, the corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.

3. Not include individuals who have made no contribution to the work as authors.

4. Acknowledge non-author contributors appropriately within the manuscript.

5. Cite all sources used during the preparation of the work in accordance with ethical standards and include them in the reference list.

6. Disclose any potential conflicts of interest or common interests to the editorial board.

7. Not submit a manuscript that has been sent to or published by another journal.

8. Obtain and document the necessary Ethics Committee approval for studies requiring such authorization.

9. Secure permission for the use of data, analyses, or participant information used in the study and document such permissions or consents.

10. Act in compliance with the provisions of the Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works.
