Authors submitting articles to the Beykent University Journal of Science and Engineering are expected to comply with the specified writing guidelines. Manuscripts that are not prepared in accordance with these rules may not be taken into consideration for evaluation or may be returned to the author at any stage of the process. During the submission, the "Copyright Agreement" and the "Title Page" containing the author and study information must be uploaded to the system as independent files, separate from the main manuscript file.

Articles may be prepared in Turkish or English. Files must be Microsoft Word documents (.doc, .docx), and the submission process must be carried out via the DergiPark system.

During the initial submission stage, to ensure the proper execution of the double-blind peer review process, author names, institutional affiliations, e-mail addresses, and ORCID numbers must strictly not be included in the template. This information must be provided as a separate title page when uploading the article to the system.

Article Section Contents

In accordance with the fundamental sections required in an academic article and the structural characteristics they must possess, as detailed below, the conceptual framework, methodology, findings, discussion, and conclusion sections of the study must be presented with the academic rigor and depth demanded by our journal. However, depending on the nature of the study, its methodology, and the internal flow of the text, main and sub-section headings may be structured and uniquely named to best suit the organization of the article. The flexibility granted in heading nomenclature and textual flow must not compromise the quality or scope of the content presented.

Abstract: The abstract aims to present the purpose of the study, the main problem it addresses, the research method, the findings obtained, and its theoretical and practical contributions in a clear and integrated manner. The text should be written with 1.15 line spacing, in 8.5-point Palatino Linotype font, justified alignment, without paragraph indentation, and should not exceed 150 words. The purpose of the study and the problem statement must be explicitly stated, and it should be clearly explained how the data were collected, modeled, or analyzed. The main findings should be presented objectively, followed by an emphasis on the contributions of these findings to the relevant disciplines. Non-standard abbreviations and citations should not be used within the text. The abstract should reflect the scientific value and scope of the study in a way that is understandable without referring to the main text. In addition, the limitations of the methodological approach should be briefly stated, and the reliability and validity of the findings should be expressed. The wording should be clear and free of unnecessary detail so that the reader can grasp the scope of the study. The abstract should, on its own, demonstrate the originality and level of contribution of the study.

Introduction: The main text should begin from the “Introduction” section. In the introduction section; the definition of the research problem, the existing gap in the literature, the purpose, significance, and hypotheses (or research questions) of the study must be clearly stated.

Theoretical Background: The theoretical background of the study must be detailed in this section. By discussing current and fundamental works in the relevant field, the position of the research within the literature must be established. Greek letters and mathematical characters must be added to the text as symbols. Equations must be labeled with consecutive numbers and cited within the text (e.g., Equation (1)). Equations must be provided in an editable format and must not be inserted as images.

Material ve Methods: The obtained data must be presented objectively in accordance with the analysis results. To avoid unnecessary repetition, the text should be supported with tables and figures. Tables with only one or two columns, and columns with only one or two entries, should be avoided. When referring to tables within the text, the word “Table” should be used without abbreviation.

Findings: The obtained data must be presented objectively in accordance with the analysis results. To avoid unnecessary repetition, the text should be supported with tables and figures. Tables with only one or two columns, and columns with only one or two entries, should be avoided. When referring to tables within the text, the word “Table” should be used without abbreviation.

Discussion: In this section, the obtained findings must be compared with similar or contrasting studies in the literature and interpreted. The implications of the findings, the limitations of the research, and recommendations for future research are discussed here.

Conclusion: The fundamental outcomes of the study are summarized briefly and clearly, providing the reader with the most important main message to take away from the text. Therefore, the answer to the primary problem or question investigated throughout the study is synthesized in this section in its simplest and most comprehensible form. The aim here is not to merely repeat what has been done, but to distill the main ideas and present them to the reader. In the conclusion section, no new findings or discussion topics that were not previously mentioned in the text should be introduced.

Declarations: These sections must be left blank in the initial submission. They will be requested from the authors after the article is accepted (Please check Article Template).
