ALABAYIR TEPE GERSDORFİT VE ANABERJİT MİNERALLERİ HAKKINDA

Abstract

1968-1970 yılları arasında «Göynük-Çukurören bölgesinin jeoloji ve antimon
yatakları» (Ref. 1) çalışılırken, silisifiye mermerler içinde o anda tayin edilemeyen
bir sülfit ve yeşil renkli pulcuklar halinde bazı kristaller görülmüştür.
Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi ve M.T.A. Enstitüsü laboratuvarlannda yapılan
çalışmalar neticesinde bunların gersdorfit ve anaberjit oldukları tespit edilmiştir.
Dünyada nadir bulunmaları bakımından Alabayır tepe gersdorfit ve anaberjitlerinin
önemi büyüktür. Profesör J. Bernard'a göre (O.D.T.Ü,), bu muntazamlıkta anaberjit
kristali çok enderdir. M.T.A. Enstitüsü Tabiat Tarihi Müzesinde teşhir edilmesi
için numuneden ilgililere verilmiştir.

GERSDORFFITE AND ANNABERGITE MINERALIZATION IN ALABAYIR TEPE

Abstract

During studies for a Master's thesis on, «Geology and Antimony Deposits
of Göynük-Çukurören Region» (1) in 1968-1970, a sulphide and a green flaky
crystal which could not be determined in the field were found in silicified marbles.
Investigations carried out in the laboratories of Middle East Technical University
(M.E.T.U.) and Mineral Research and Exploration Institute (M.T.A.) led
to the conclusion that these were gersdorffite and annabergite, respectively. Since
these are relatively rare minerals, Alabayır Tepe mineralization seems to have a
particular importance from the mineralogical point of view. According to Prof. J.
Bernard, Mineralogist, M.E.T.U, such a perfect crystal of annabergite is most
unusual. An annabergite-gersdorffite sample is presented to Natural History Museum
of M.T.A. Institute.
