The Bodies in Anthropometrics of Yves Klein

Abstract

This work; provides a critical approach to the question of the place of anthropometry in the art literature and how
it is practiced. The interlocutor of this criticism is Yves Klein, who is known as one of the important
representatives of the New Realism movement, with his ultraviolet blue color pigment, which was patented as the
international Klein Blue. Starting in the mid-1950s, Klein exhibited the first examples of performance art by
making retinal blue monochrome paintings, and by making use of the female body to make it a body criterion
(anthropometry), in a sense it is unintentionally a trap for a sexist point of view material.
Therefore, in this study; Yves Klein is presenting a critique of the objectification of the female body in the works
put forward in accordance with the concept of anthropometry.

Yves Klein’ın Antropometrilerindeki Bedenler

Abstract

Bu çalışma; bir bilim dalı olan Antropometri’nin
sanat literatüründeki yeri ve ne şekilde icra edildiği sorunsalı üzerine
eleştirel bir yaklaşım sunar. Bu eleştirinin muhatabı ise uluslararası “Klein
Mavisi” olarak patent aldığı ve ticari marka haline gelen ultraviyole mavi renk
pigmenti ve Yeni Gerçekçilik akımının önemli temsilcilerinden biri olarak
bilinen Yves Klein’dır. Klein, 1950'lerin ortasından başlayarak, retina mavisi
monokrom resimler yaparak performans sanatının ilk örneklerini sergiliyor ve
özellikle kadın bedenini kullanarak bunu bir beden ölçütü (Antropometri)
malzemesi haline getirerek bir anlamda farkında olmadan cinsiyetçi bir bakış
açısının tuzağına düşer ve bu noktada bir eleştiri malzemesine dönüşür.

Dolayısıyla bu çalışmada; Yves Klein, Antropometri
kavramı doğrultusunda ortaya koyduğu eserlerde yer alan kadın bedeninin
nesneleştirilmesine yönelik bir eleştiri sunulmaktadır.
