Ethical Principles and Ethical Rules

Cappadocia Academic Review Journal follows the standards of publication ethics set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/)

Based on the COPE principles of publication ethics, editors, authors, and reviewers must adhere to the following ethical guidelines.


Ethical rules to be followed by the editor:

- The editor should ensure that the submitted manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of the quality of the work and the reviewers' comments, regardless of the authors' characteristics such as religion, language, race, ethnic origin, political opinion and gender.
- The editor should reject the article in case of ethical violations.
- The editor keeps the information about the manuscripts submitted to the journal confidential and should not share this information with anyone other than the corresponding author, referees and the editorial board.
- The editor should ensure that the referee evaluation process is carried out by double blind refereeing.
- The editor should not use the information presented in the article for his/her own research.
- The editor has full responsibility for rejecting, accepting or requesting changes in the manuscripts submitted to the journal.


Ethical rules to be followed by the authors:

- Authors should declare that the submitted work is original and has not been previously published.
- Authors must declare that the study is not currently under review in another journal.
- All authors named in the manuscript must have contributed to the experimental design and implementation of the study or to the analysis and interpretation of the data.
- Authors should provide access to the data sets used in the article if necessary.
- Authors are required to inform the editorial board if they realise that there is a significant error in their published manuscript.
- Authors must submit the ethics committee approval to the journal for studies that require ethics committee approval. If it is necessary to obtain ‘Ethics Committee Approval’ in the research; Information about the Ethics Committee approval (name of the ethics committee, number and date of the approval document) should be specified in the article.


Ethical rules for reviewers:

- Reviewers should agree to review papers that they feel they have sufficient expertise in.
- Reviewers should agree to review manuscripts that they feel they can evaluate in a timely and adequate manner.
- Reviewers should respect the confidentiality of peer review and should not disclose any information about a manuscript during or after the review process, beyond what is published.
- Reviewers should not use information obtained during the review process to their own or others' advantage.
- Reviewers should notify the editorial board of the journal when they suspect plagiarism or other ethical violations.
- Reviewers should not review in situations where there may be a conflict of interest.
- Reviewers should be objective and constructive in their evaluations and should not make personal comments.


Authorship and Contribution

- Authorship should include those who contributed significantly to the conceptualisation, design, implementation or interpretation of the work. Any changes to the manuscript after submission to the journal must be approved by all contributing authors.
- Authors are obliged to provide information about author contributions. ‘Author contribution statement’ is published at the end of each article.

Conflict of Interest

Authors are obliged to declare any conflict of interest in the ‘Conflict of interest declaration’ at the end of the article.

Data Accessibility

Authors are encouraged to indicate the accessibility of their data. Authors should provide access to the datasets used in the article upon request.

Intellectual Property

Cappadocia Academic Overview Journal, which adopts the principle that allowing free access to scientific research increases global knowledge sharing, provides direct open access to its content.
After an article is accepted, the copyright of the article is transferred to Cappadocia Academic Review.

Complaints and Objections

As a journal policy, our decision on an article is final. However, in case of any complaint or objection, authors can contact the editor.


Authorship and Contribution

- Authors are obliged to provide information about author contributions. ‘Author contribution statement’ is published at the end of each article.


Post-Publication Corrections

If authors notice an error after the article has been published, they should immediately notify the editor with a request for correction. After editorial review, either an error correction will be published or the manuscript will be withdrawn in case of fundamental errors.

Ethical Violations

Our journal is committed to following ethical guidelines and preventing publishing inaccuracies. All submissions are initially screened for compliance with ethical guidelines and scientific standards. In addition, all submissions are checked using plagiarism detection software and the article is rejected if plagiarism is detected. When any malpractice such as plagiarism or scientific inaccuracy is detected, the editor and publisher take the necessary measures. If a malpractice is discovered after the article has been published, the options of publishing a correction or withdrawing the article are considered.
