In spite of increasing in female employment rate with each year, it is still known to be less likely to participate in the employment of women than men in Turkey and the world for various reasons. Therefore, various policies and practices are implemented in order to facilitate and encourage the participation of women in work life, who constitute one of the disadvantaged groups of the labor market, especially in the underdeveloped and developing countries, and some sectors such as tourism are emphasized in increasing female employment. In this context, in this study, the place of the female labor force, which is still not adequately employed in the labor market as a result of economic, political and social structures, has been examined through the available statistics. Later on the study, based on the positive and negative characteristics of the tourism sector, the opportunities and challenges offered by the sector for the employment of female labor force were evaluated and solution proposals were developed.
