Year 2020, Volume: 8, 507 - 512, 30.06.2020
https://doi.org/10.13113/CEDRUS.202023

Abstract

During the excavations carried out under the direction of the Antalya Museum Directorate in 2017, an inscribed block, used as a spolia parapet, was found in the water trench of the area called the eastern colonnade street. The block has an honorary inscriptions dedicated to emperor Traianus and his sister Ulpia Marciana by a libertus procurator of the emperor whose name is unknown. The fragmentary inscription, of which the first three lines are written in two columns, consists of five lines. The right hand side of the inscription is well preserved and legible. The missing left side was most probably on another block. This article introduces the inscription and then provides information concerning the less well known Ulpia Marciana, the sister of emperor Traianus.

Perge’den Traianus ve Ulpia Marciana için Yeni Bir Onurlandırma Yazıtı

Year 2020, Volume: 8, 507 - 512, 30.06.2020
https://doi.org/10.13113/CEDRUS.202023
