Karatekin University Journal of Science aims to introduce research articles, compilations, original and qualified academic studies that will contribute to the science literature written in the fields of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics.

Qualified internationally original research and compilation articles in the fields of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics will be published in the Karatekin University Journal of Science. Karatekin University Journal of Science is a peer-reviewed, national and academic journal that publishes electronically both in Turkish and English twice a year.
Following the Editor's evaluation of the articles sent to the journal in terms of purpose, scope and adequacy criteria, the appropriate studies are directed to the Field Editors. By applying the blind refereeing system, the opinion of at least three expert referees is taken and the article review phase is completed. Articles submitted to the journal must be original in content, not previously published elsewhere or sent for publication.
Research Article: These are the articles that reflect an original research with its findings and results. The study should be original and contribute to science.
Review Article: These are the articles that scan a sufficient number of scientific articles, summarize the subject at the level of today's knowledge and technology, evaluate and interpret the findings by comparing them. In review articles, mainly sources from the last 10 years should be used.
No publication fee will be charged for publications of Karatekin University Journal of Science.

Karatekin University Journal of Science is published twice a year and publishes original and qualified academic studies in the fields of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics. All articles sent to be published in the Journal are subject to the "Referee" review and evaluation after the Editor's preliminary review. Submission of the article to the Journal means that it has not been previously published elsewhere and no attempt has yet been made to publish it. The whole article; It should be written in “Times New Roman” font, 12 points, 1.5 line spacing, and justified, including figures, graphics, photographs and tables. (Need a page limit?)
A4 paper size should be used as the page structure and 3 cm margins should be left from the top and left, and 2.5 cm from the bottom and right. Page and line numbers should be added to the article text. The language of the article should be Turkish or English. Articles prepared in Turkish should be written by taking into account the latest spelling guide of the Turkish Language Association.
Cover Page: It should contain the title of the article (in the article language), the full names of the authors (without title), the institutions they work with and all the contact information of the responsible author (open address, e-letter and telephone and document valid numbers). The title of the article should be short and descriptive, written in lowercase, 14 pt and bold with the first letters capitalized. Author names should be written in lowercase and surnames in capital letters (in the middle of the page). Author institutions should be written in lower case letters with the first letters in capital letters.
Title:
Abstract page: The article title, abstract (minimum 100, maximum 250 words) and keywords (3-6 items) should be given in the language of the article. The same information should be given in the other language (English or vice versa if the article language is Turkish). The abstract should briefly include the rationale, aims, method, findings and recommendations of the research.
Keywords: At least 3 and at most 6 keywords that are not used in the title should be written 1 line below the abstract page, the first letter of each keyword should be capitalized and the others should be written in lowercase letters, if possible.
Main text: The main text of the article; Login; Material and Method; Results; Discussion and Conclusion; It consists of resources sections. All main section headings are written in capital letters and bold, and subheadings only the first letter of the first word is capitalized and bold. Headings and the beginning of the paragraph should start 0 cm indent. There should be a space between the paragraphs. Figures and tables should be placed at appropriate places in the article by giving figure and table numbers, table captions should be at the top of the table and figure captions should be given below the figure. Figure and table titles should be as short and descriptive as possible. If the figure is a picture, it should be of high resolution, and the graphic should be arranged in a way that is easy to understand. Only horizontal lines should be used in tables. If the local names of the living species or species that are the subject of the article are used, their scientific names should be stated in the first place in the text. For units, the international system of units should be used (The International Systems of Units, SI) and decimals should be indicated with a dot (.) (for example, 45.7% or 0.221).
Figures and Tables: Figures, graphics, photographs and the like should be specified as "Figure" and numerical values ​​as "Table". All figures and tables should be embedded in the article. Figures and tables should be no more than 16x20 cm in length in single-page layout and 8 cm in width in double-column layout. The size of the figures and tables should be in a resolution that can be printed. Pictures supporting the research results should be in "jpg" format with 600 dpi resolution. Each table and figure should be cited in the text. All tables and figures should be numbered sequentially throughout the article (Table 1 and Figure 1). Table and figure titles and descriptions should be short and concise. Headings for figures and tables should be in 10 points, texts in figures and tables should be in 9 points, texts under tables should be in 8 points Times New Roman font. If abbreviations are used in tables and figures, these abbreviations should be explained just below.

Units: SI (System International d'Units) measurement units should be used in all articles. Use a dot as a decimal fraction (like 1.25 instead of 1.25). “/” should not be used in units and a space should be given between units (such as m s-1 instead of m/s, J s-1 instead of J/s, kg m s-2 instead of kg m/s2). A space must be left between the number and the symbol (such as 4 kg N ha-1, 3 kg m−1 s−2, 20 N m, 1000 s−1, 100 kPa, 22 °C). Exceptions to this rule are the degrees, minutes, and seconds symbols (°, ′, and ″) used for planar angles. They should be placed immediately after the number (like 10°, 45', 60"). The abbreviation of liter should be indicated as “l”. If they are not at the end of the sentence, do not put a period at the end of the symbols (kg, not kg).
Formulas: Formulas should be numbered and the formula number should be shown in parentheses, aligned to the right next to the formula. Word math processor should be used in writing the formulas, main characters should be in 12 points, variables should be in italics, numbers and mathematical expressions should be given plain. If it is to be cited in the text, it should be given in the form of “Equation 1” (…the related model is given in Equation 1).

References: All sources cited in the article should be listed alphabetically in the References section. Likewise, all works in the References section should be cited in the text. References should be given in the text according to the surname of the author and the date of publication (For example: Kray and Fisher 2008; Yılmaz et al. 2005; Zigler 1983a and 1983b). If the reference is to be used in a sentence, only the year should be in parentheses (For example: 'Steffenrem et al. (2007) Picea abies wood properties...').

Karatekin University Journal of Science observes the publication ethics principles, standards and recommendations determined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
Ethical issues will be evaluated in accordance with COPE rules and journal guidelines.
In this context, our journal has deemed it appropriate to produce, develop and share articles that have undergone single-blind peer-review processes. All articles to be published or published that do not comply with the publication ethics policy of the journal are removed from publication.
Our journal reserves the right to request output files related to the study subjects and analysis results from the authors according to the returns given by the editorial board and/or the referees. If the requested document is not submitted, the article will be rejected.
The prerequisite for the article to be accepted for publication is that it is deemed suitable for publication by at least 2 (two) referees. The order of publication of accepted articles is adjusted depending on the acceptance time. However, the Editorial Board reserves the right to make changes when deemed necessary. After an article is accepted for publication, the "Copyright Transfer Form" must be filled and signed by all authors and uploaded to the journal system.
If there is a behavior that does not comply with the ethical principles of the parties, an unethical situation regarding a work sent or published for publication, the journal e-mail address should be informed.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
• Author names are presented incompletely,
• Non-contributory people are included as authors,
• There are studies that are not within the scope of the journal,
• There is a study that includes plagiarism and unethical publishing behavior,
• In case of non-recognition of funding sources, if any,
• In matters of copyright infringement belonging to others,
• Disclosure of a place/person/institution/organization etc.,
• Having conflicts of interest,
• Lack of reporting standards,
• The data used cannot be submitted when requested,
• Multiple, unnecessary or simultaneous publications on the same study,
• Appropriate citations and references are not used within the scope of the study,
• In case of main and obvious errors in the article,
If the similarity rate determined during the application is above 20% (iThenticate), the relevant articles are not sent to the referee for evaluation.
Authors should check the "iThenticate" output and rate in order to maintain the plagiarism control processes of the relevant article. The relevant report should be uploaded to the journal. The same procedure should be followed after the revision of the article.
In case the work is accepted, the "Copyright Transfer Form" should be uploaded to the journal system. All authors involved in the study must sign this document.

Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
• The article should be checked in accordance with the journal's guidelines.
• The academic quality and originality of the article should be examined.
• Should not share information about the study with the authors or others.
• Evaluations should be concrete, measured and objective.
• During the evaluation process, attention should be paid to the time allocated to it. If necessary, additional time should be requested.
• In case of copyright infringement and plagiarism, the editor should be informed immediately.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors, Assistant Editors and Field Editors
• It strives to increase the quality of publication in the journal.
• In the journal, the public interest is considered in the decisions made.
• It protects the copyright of the authors of the articles published in the journal.
• Keeps the records of each article and correspondence about the journal in electronic or printed form.
• Editors complete their work with impartiality, confidentiality, conflict of interest, peer review processes,
• Makes unethical behavior managements in accordance with rational ethical rules,
• The articles uploaded to the journal are checked for compliance with the journal before they are submitted to the referees (at least 2 copies) by the relevant editor. These are the eligibility steps:
- Compliance with spelling rules
-Conformity to the template in shape
- Compliance with its purpose and scope
- Compliance with broadcasting principles
- Compliance with publication ethics
- Its scientific quality and originality should be examined.
Journal Publication Policy
• “Karatekin University Journal of Science ” is published twice a year (April and October) in Turkish and English.
• It is a national, single-blind, peer-reviewed, indexed and open access journal.
• No evaluation or application fee is charged from the articles.
• The article evaluation process takes an average of 8 (eight) weeks.
• The article (or study) in the evaluation process can be withdrawn through the DergiPark system, provided that all authors send the withdrawal request letter with wet signature. However, the article cannot be sent to another journal before this process is completed. The article whose evaluation has been completed cannot be withdrawn.
