Hititler’de Ateş Kültü ve Tanrı DPahhur (I)

Abstract

Hitit belgeleri Anadolu kültüründe ateş’in özel konumu olduğunu göstermektedir. Hititçe metinler “kutsallaştırılmış ateş”in Anadolu’daki yazılı örneklerini barındırmaktadır. pahhur “ateş” arındırıcı, koruyucu, cezalandırıcı ya da yok edici yönleri ile Tanrılar ve insanlar arasındaki iletişimi temsil etmekteydi. O mevcut iki dünya arasında bir geçiş unsuru olarak görülmekteydi. Bu nedenle Hitit inanç sisteminde birçok ritüel uygulamasının bir parçası olarak kullanılmıştır. Ateşin kullanımı, ritüel uygulamalarının yanı sıra, sıklıkla edebi ve mitolojik metinlerde de bulunur. “pahhur” metinlerde “ateş; meşale; kıvılcım; kamp ateşi; (vücut sıcaklığı) ateş/ateşlenme” ya da “KIN-falında bir ifade” olarak kullanımları ile görülmektedir. Araştırmamızda, Hititler’de ateş ve kült uygulamaları üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Ateş ile ilgili mitolojik anlatılardaki Hatti motiflerinin klasik Yunan anlatımlarına kadar uzandığını; Tyszkiewicz ve Aydın mühürlerinin mitolojik sahnelerinde ise Ateş Tanrısı ikonografisinin bulunabileceğini değerlendirmekteyiz.
