Review Process

In Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Journal of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, the article(s) peer review process consists of the following stages, and no fee is charged for the evaluation. Double–blind reviewing process is applied in our journal.

1- Article evaluation is consisted of three stages i.e. preliminary control process, evaluation process and correction process.

2- In preliminary control process, the singed Copyright Form by all authors and the writing rules of the article are checked. Articles failing to fulfill these requirements are rejected by the Editor on the grounds that they cannot pass the preliminary control phase.

3- The information for corresponding author is defined in the system about how to follow the evaluation process when the article is submitted to the journal online webpage.

4- The article is scanned with the i-Thenticate plagiarism program. The similarity report is also taken into consideration by editorial board while in review process. Articles with the plagiarism rate of 24% and above, except references will not be accepted for scientific evaluation. Author(s) should not only consider the similarity rate, but also the content in terms of citation rules.

5- The journal's suitability for the article is assessed by the Editor. Referees can be either accepted or rejected the article at this stage.

6- At least two potential referees are selected by the editorial board of the journal to evaluate the submitted article(s) at the time of review process.

7- There are four types of suggestions in the referee’s evaluation form:

            a) Article is acceptable for publication

            b) Article is not acceptable for publication

            c) Correction is required in the article. Article may be published after the specified revisions.

            d) Correction is required in the article. I would like to reassess the article after the specified revisions.

8- Referees’ evaluation reports will be send to the corresponding author of the article and the suggested corrections are being expected. Moreover, listing the corrections on a separate page can be useful and easy for the follow-up of the corrections by referees.

9- Decisions regarding the publication of article, making changes in the article by the author(s) or rejection of the article are given by the editorial board of the journal after collecting the referees' reports.

10- The article may be rejected by the editor in case the required corrections would not be done for a long time by the corresponding author.
