Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Teknolojiye Hazır Bulunuşluk Düzeyi ve Kişilik Özellikleri Arasındaki İlişki: Erciyes Üniversitesi Örneği

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin teknolojiye hazır bulunuşluk düzeyi ile kişilik tipleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Öğrencilerinin teknolojiye hazır bulunuşluk düzeylerini ölçmek üzere, Parasuraman tarafından geliştirilen Teknolojiye Hazır Bulunuşluk İndeksini (TRI) temel alarak Yen’in uyarlamış olduğu 18 ifadeden oluşan TRI kullanılmıştır. Bu indekste teknolojiye hazır bulunuşluk düzeyleri “yenilikçilik”, “güvensizlik”, “huzursuzluk” ve “iyimserlik” olmak üzere dört boyutta incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, öğrencilerin kişilik tiplerini ölçmek için Holland’ın oluşturduğu “gerçekçi”, “araştırmacı”, “sanatçı”, “sosyal”, “girişimci” ve“geleneksel” gibi altı farklı kişilik tipi temel alınarak, Pilavcı tarafından uyarlanan 42 ifadeden oluşan ölçek kullanılmıştır. Anket formu aracılığı ile elde edilen veriler uygun bir istatistik programı ile analiz edilmiştir.Çalışma kapsamında oluşturulan modelleme sonucunda teknolojiye hazır bulunuşlukta “iyimserlik” faktör grubu, kişilik tiplerinde ise, “geleneksel” kişilik tipi1. faktör grubu olarak ilk sırada yer almaktadır. Teknolojiye hazır bulunuşlukta “rahatsızlık” boyutunun kişiliğin boyutları ile anlamlı bir ilişkisi olmadığı, teknolojiye hazır bulunuşlukla ilgili diğer değişkenlerin ise kişilikle ilgili değişkenlerce açıklanabildiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır

Relationship Between Technology Readiness Level and Personality Characteristics at the College Students: Erciyes University Sample

Öz

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the technology readiness level and personality types of the college students. In order to measure the level, The Technology Readiness Index (previously formulated by Parasuman)which consists of 18 items and was adapted by Yen based on the work of Parasuman was used. In this index the readiness levels were viewed in four dimensions: innovation, insecurity, discomfort and optimism. Besides, so as to measure the personality types of students, the scale which consists of 42 items and was adapted by Pilavcı based on the work of Holland who identified six different types of personalities like, realistic, researcher, artist, entrepreneur, social, traditional was used. The data obtained via the questionnaire was analysed by using an appropriate statistic program. As a result of modelling within the study, “optimism” factor group is ranked in the first line in readiness level and “traditional” is ranked in the first line in personality types. It was concluded that discomfort is not meaningfully associated with the other personality types, nevertheless the other items related to readiness could be explained by the ones about personality
