Classroom Teachers' Questions: A Research Based on the Experiences of Classroom Teachers

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the problems of classroom teachers based on their teacher experiences. In order to achieve this goal, the problems of class teachers working in primary and secondary schools with low socio-economic level were handled separately. In the study, the pattern of qualitative research was used. 10 of the class teachers participating in the research have low socio-economic level, 11 are in the socio-economic level, and 9 are in the primary school with high socio-economic level. The data of the study were obtained through focus group interviews using a semi-structured interview form. The group interviews were conducted in 3 different schools and in groups of 4, 5 and 6 classroom teachers. Each interview lasted 30-40 minutes on average. In the analysis of the data, the content analysis method which is frequently used in the qualitative researches was used. According to research findings, the problems of classroom teachers working in primary schools with low socioeconomic level were gathered under the themes of "Problems from Educational System", "Parents and Envivaired Problems" and "Problems from Teacher Problems". Teachers working in primary schools with a socioeconomic level of moderate socioeconomic level and high socioeconomic level are grouped under the themes of "Problems from Educational System," "Parents and Conviventual Problems," "Problems from Teachers" and "Problems from School and Classroom Problems"
