Yahudi Kaynaklarında Kral Tipolojileri: Nebukadnezzar ve Koreş Örneği
Abstract
This article deals wlth the two non-Jewlsh klngs, Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonlan
king and Cyrus, the Persian king, and their pasition In the Jewlsh literature.
Evaluations about this two non-Jewish klngs In the Jewlsh texts provldes us an
apinion with regard to the Jewlsh attltude and manner agalnst forelgners. The text ·
refers that Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem and lts temple, and drove Jews lnto
exile. On the· other hand, Cyrus permltted them to return back to thelr home and
rebulld the clty and the temple. Desplte these two dlfferent approach to them, In line
with Jewlsh falth, both klngs were regarded the Yahve's envoys who performed his
plans regarding Jewlsh people. To this understandlng,- the former punlshed Jewlsh
people wlth a wmmand by Yahve because of thelr slns. In contrast, the latter allawed
them to return ba"k to thelr homes by the p~rmlssion of Yahve because of waklng His
splrit up.
