The Teaching of the Qur’an
Abstract
This study was carried out to find an answer to the question: “How
can we teach the Qur’an accurately to the pupil studying at primary school in
Jordan employing modern technology and scientific methods?” The potential
audience of the research are those who are in the position of teaching the
Qur’an. Thus, the researcher introduces them pedagogical arguments in the
light of the data gathered through experimental and observational research.
The study includes following main chapters: Introduction, the
importance of the Qur’an and its place in the curricula of education, the aims
of teaching the Qur’an, the main principles in teaching the Qur’an, the
methods and tools used in teaching the Qur’an, result, measurement and
evaluation, bibliographical references.
Chapter five has four subdivisions providing examples of practical
applications. These are: The methods of teaching the rules of correct
recitation (tacvid), the techniques of teaching the Qur’an recitation, the
methods of teaching Qur’an Commentary and the techniques of learning the
Qur’an by heart.
The research has been translated into Turkish considering that it
would provide to colleagues who undertook the responsibility of teaching
Qur’an a good idea of what is going on in this field in countries other than
Turkey and would introduce them guidelines when teaching the Qur’an
