Instructions for Authors
About the journal
Cumhuriyet University Health Sciences Institute Journal is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Institute of Health Sciences. There is no article publishing fee in the journal. Articles with new national or international information can be submitted to the journal. Articles submitted to the journal must be unpublished and based on research results (excluding review articles). The submitted article should also not be in the process of being evaluated for publication in another journal. The authors mentioned in the article agree that they take an active role in the preparation of the publication and are responsible for the issues they contribute to.
Manuscript preparation
Page settings
Page margins should be 2.5 cm from each edge of the file. Text should be prepared in 12 point Cambria, with 1.5 line spacing. It is important that the file be saved in the native format of the word processor used. The text should be in single-column format. Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. Most formatting codes will be removed and replaced on processing the article. In particular, do not use the word processor's options to justify text or to hyphenate words. However, do use bold face, italics, subscripts, superscripts etc. When preparing tables, if you are using a table grid, use only one grid for each individual table and not a grid for each row. If no grid is used, use tabs, not spaces, to align columns. Note that source files of figures, tables and text graphics will be required whether or not you embed your figures in the text. Consecutive line numbering should be included starting from the section introduction of the manuscript.
While submitting the article, title page, text file and transfer agreement, and if necessary, a permit from the relevant local ethics committee should be attached.
Title Page
The title page should include the name of the article (capital letters first), the names, surnames, ORCID numbers and addresses of the authors, and the e-mail address of the responsible author. The names of the authors should be given in full without shortening them. If there are authors from more than one institution in the article, the institution of the author should be specified by enumerating the author's name as superscript. Addresses should also be exponentially specified. Also the responsible author superscript should be indicated with an asterisk.
Text File
The text file should be prepared in the order of introduction, materials and methods, findings, discussion, conflict of interest, thanks, sources and figure titles starting from the new page after the title, summary, keywords, English title, summary and keywords in the language in which the article is written. The first letters of the section titles in the text file should be written in capitals and bold. Secondary headings should only be written in capital letters, bold and italic. If available, the first letter should be capitalized and italic in lower titles.
Abstract
The abstract should be written in a way to include the purpose of the study, the types studied, the materials and methods, the new theory and terminologies, and the conclusion. The abstract should be presented in a clear and understandable language without references. The abstract should not exceed 250 words. Maximum 6 keywords should be given after the summary.
Introduction
In the introduction part, starting from the definition of the problem and expressing the findings and results of the previous studies, the aim of the current study should be clearly emphasized.
Materials and Methods
Since the methods will be repeated or tested by other researchers, the tools and methods should be clearly described. Standardly accepted methods or tests can simply be expressed by name or cited by reference. The basic principles of the method should be briefly explained in relation to the chemical procedures stated by reference.
Results and Discussion
The results of the studies should be clearly explained in the findings section. Study findings should be interpreted by comparison with current literature. It should be associated with previous studies, and the consistent and incompatible results should be discussed. The importance of the study results in practice and the potential to open up for future studies should be stated. At the end of the discussion section, there should be a paragraph in which the main results of the study are expressed.
Conflict of Interest Statement
It should be stated whether the authors whose names are listed in the article have an interest relationship with any person or organization regarding the data presented in the article and / or the subject of the article.
Acknowledgments
If any, those who are not among the authors in the study but who have contributed to a certain extent can be thanked in this section.
References
As a source, current articles, books, book chapters, theses or online resources can be used as well as unpublished information. In this case, personal communication or unpublished finding expression is stated in parentheses and this information is not included in the references section. Authors must ensure that the sources are complete and accurate. No references should be given in the summary or conclusion. Our Journal uses the name-year system with the year of publication, following the surname of the author/s in the text. In cases where the number of authors is 3 or more, following the surname of the first author, “et al.,” And the year should be given. Author names and year information should be written in bold style. It should not be underlined or italicized. Take a look at the following examples of using resources in parentheses;
If he is the only writer:
• Jones (2004), conducted a detailed study of children's eating habits.
• In a study, children's eating habits were investigated (Jones, 2004).
• In 2004, Jones conducted a detailed study of children's eating habits.
Note: In the example above, since the name and year of the author are used in the text, there is no need to cite parentheses in the text.
In the case of two authors:
• Calhoun and Keller (1997), stated that income-based rankings are not the only indicators of development.
• Although income based rankings are important, it has been stated that they are not the only indicator of development (Calhoun & Keller, 1997).
In the case of three or more authors:
• Although income based rankings are important, it has been stated that they are not the only indicator of development (Calhoun et al., 1997).
• Calhoun ve arkadaşları (1997), gelir temelli sıralamalar önemli olmakla beraber gelişmişliğin tek göstergesi olmadığını belirtmiştir.
Preparation of the source section:
All the sources used in the article should be listed in alphabetical order. Journal names should be shortened. When the cited author and the year are the same, both in the text and in the references section, it should be stated as “… .1997a and / or… .1997b” in lower case after the year. Check out the examples below to write the list of sources;

Tables: All tables should be cited in the text and should be numbered according to the order in the article. Each table should be given at the end of the text file, with separate pages.
Figures: All figures should be cited in the text and should be numbered according to the order in the article. Figures must be in jpeg, png, tiff, eps formats and at least 300 dpi resolution. Each figure should be given at the end of the text file, on a separate page.
Human and animal rights documents: In the case of using live human and / or animal in the studies, the authors must certify that the methods they use comply with the national and / or relevant international regulations. If animal experiments were carried out in the study, they should definitely add the permit documents they received from the relevant boards when submitting an article.
