Altı Yedi Ve Sekizinci Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Çatışmalarını Çözmede Arkadaşlarının Yardımına ilişkin Görüşleri

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether 6th 7th and 8th grade primary school students sought assistance from their friends to deal with their conflicts; if so what conflicts students asked assistance and what strategies students thought their friends used to resolve these conflicts In addition reasons indicated by students for not asking friends’ help were examined The data for this research were collected from primary school students by using a questionnaire developed by the researcher Approximately half of the students reported that they asked help from their friends however girls were more likely to did so than boys Verbal and physical aggression conflicting ideas jealousy disputes related physical space and playground disputes were among the conflicts students took their friends to resolve Students said that their friends applied such constructive strategies as talking offering ideas mediating listening finding solution and reconciling in dealing with their disputes The reasons for not seeking friends’ help were grouped into three main categories of student related friend related and problem related reasons Key words: conflict conflict resolution friends’ help

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı ilköğretim 6 7 ve 8 sınıf öğrencilerinin arkadaşlarıyla yaşadıkları çatışmaları çözmede arkadaşlarından yardım isteyip istemedikleri hangi çatışmalar için yardım istedikleri arkadaşlarının çözüm yolları yararlı olup olmadıkları ve yardım istememe nedenlerini incelemektir Bu amaca yönelik veriler araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen bir anketin 451 ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencisine uygulanması sonucunda elde edilmiştir Öğrencilerin yarıya yakınının arkadaşlarından yardım istedikleri kız öğrencilerin daha çok yardım isteme eğilimde olduğu fiziksel ve sözel saldırganlık fikir uyuşmazlığı kıskançlık sıra sorunu oyun sırasındaki anlaşmazlıklar gibi yardım istenen çatışmalara arkadaşlarının öneri verme konuşma arabulucu olma barıştırma dinleme teselli etme çözüm bulma gibi daha çok yapıcı yöntemleri kullanarak yardımcı oldukları ve öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğunun bu yardımları yararlı bulduğu ortaya çıkmıştır Öğrencilerin arkadaşlarından yardım istememe nedenlerini daha çok kendilerine kendilerinin çözmesi arkasından da arkadaşına yardım etmeme ilgisiz olma ve soruna bağlı sorunun küçük olması nedenlere yükleme eğiliminde oldukları görülmüştür Öğrencilerin arkadaşlarının çatışmalarını çözmeye yardım sürecinin daha sistematik hale getirilmesi için öneriler üzerinde durulmuştur Anahtar sözcükler: çatışma çatışma çözme arkadaş yardımı 6TH 7TH AND 8TH GRADE PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS’ VIEWS’ ON FRIENDS’ HELP IN RESOLVING THEIR CONFLICTS
