Sunflower plant is grown in west and central part of the country under irrigated and rainfed conditions, it is also one of the main rotation plant in Thrace which is grown in substantially rainfed conditions. In this study, ammonium and nitrate, nitrate, organic matter, saturation and the parameters such as the expected yield is examined as an index in terms of nitrogen fertilization recommendation.of sunflower which is grown under rainfed conditions in Thrace.
For this purpose, 21 field trials were conducted in Thrace region in 2013-2014-2015 years. Trials were conducted in Latin square design; 0 (control), 3, 6, 9 and 12 kg /da (N) levels of nitrogen fertilizer was applied. The amount of ammonium and nitrate, organic matter and saturation was determined in soil samples taken before the establishment of field trials. Correlation coefficients between soil analysis parameters and yield results of nitrogen fertilizer trials were determined considering the nitrogen value determined by the control and regression. Significant relationship determined between nitrogen amount determined by regression and organic matter, nitrate, ammonium nitrate in the soil.
