Abstract

This study examines the historical development of ethical concepts and fundamental ethical theories and examines the importance of ethical principles in management and educational administration. Ethics is defined as the set of rules that people have developed since they began to live collectively and has regulated the relationships of individuals with both other people and nature. While theological ethics argues that actions are evaluated based on their consequences, deontological ethics determines the moral value of an action according to intention and adherence to universal rules. Virtue ethics focuses on the character and moral virtues of the individual. This study emphasizes that ethical decisions should be made in management and that ethical principles are of vital importance, especially in school administration. It is stated that the possession of ethical values by school administrators forms the basis of successful and fair management practices in educational processes. The study also discusses the negative effects of unethical behaviors of administrators in organizations and emphasizes the importance of ethical principles in school administration. As a result, it has been argued that having ethical values is of critical importance not only at the individual but also at the social and organizational level.

Okul Yöneticileri ve Etik

Abstract

Öz
Bu çalışma, etik kavramlarının tarihsel gelişimini ve temel etik kuramlarını ele alarak, yönetimde ve eğitim yönetiminde etik ilkelerin önemini incelemektedir. Etik, insanların toplu halde yaşamaya başlamalarından itibaren geliştirdikleri kurallar bütünü olarak tanımlanmış ve bireylerin hem diğer insanlarla hem de doğa ile olan ilişkilerini düzenlemiştir. Teolojik etik, eylemlerin sonuçlarına dayalı olarak değerlendirildiğini savunurken, deontolojik etik bir eylemin ahlaki değerini niyet ve evrensel kurallara bağlılığa göre belirler. Erdem etiği ise bireyin karakterine ve ahlaki erdemlerine odaklanır. Bu çalışmada yönetimde etik kararların alınması gerektiği, özellikle eğitim yönetiminde etik ilkelerin hayati önem taşıdığı vurgulanmaktadır. Eğitim yöneticilerinin etik değerlere sahip olmalarının, eğitim süreçlerinde başarılı ve adil yönetim uygulamalarının temelini oluşturduğu belirtilmiştir. Çalışma, yöneticilerin etik dışı davranışlarının örgütlerdeki olumsuz etkilerini de tartışmakta ve okul yönetiminde etik ilkelerin önemini vurgulamaktadır. Sonuç olarak, etik değerlere sahip olmanın sadece bireysel değil, toplumsal ve kurumsal düzeyde de kritik öneme sahip olduğu tartışılmıştır.
