Abstract
Some books have got relatively very big influences on society. In this meaning, it can be said that religious texts are first, for they have influences going beyond the time on societies. Societies can become old, but we can not say the same thing for the sacred books and the religious texts. Some books except religious ones can show a fundamental effect on societies. Marifetnâme (Book of Enlightenment) by Ibrahim Hakki Erzurûmî in 1756 is so. It has been very effective on the though structure and religious understanding of Turkish people. Marifetnâme was an encyclopaedic work that caused a stir in Ottoman Turkey when it was written and continued to exert an influence for long afterwards. Marifetnâme was the book of Erzurumlu Ibrahim Hakki as a scholar of wide interests who whose work encompassed science, anatomy, astronomy, linguistics, mysticism, mathematics, body, physiognomy, psychology, philosophy and what today we call sociology, etc. This study aims to consider and to understand the body having an important place in Marifetnâme.
Abstract
Bazı kitaplar, toplum üzerinde görece çok büyük etkilere sahip olurlar. Bu an-lamda dinî metinlerin, başta geldiği söylenebilir; zira dinî metinler toplumlar üzerinde zamanı aşan bir etkiye sahiptirler. Toplumlar eskir, ama kutsal kitap-lar ve dinî metinler eskimez. Kutsal kitaplar ve dinî metinlerin dışında da bazı kitaplar toplumlar üzerinde esaslı bir etkiye sahip olabilirler. Örneğin Erzurum-lu İbrahim Hakkı Hazretleri’nin “Marifetnâme” adlı meşhur kitabı, Türk toplu-munun düşünce yapısının ve dinî yaşantısının oluşmasında çok etkili olmuş ve olmaya da devam etmektedir. İşte bu çalışmada, “Marifetnâme”de çok önemli bir yer tutan “Beden” konusunu ele almak, mezkur kitapta bedene dinî temelde nasıl yaklaşıldığını ortaya koymak ve bedenin izahında toplumun insanların bedenleriyle ilgili tecrübî yaklaşımlarının ne derece etkili olduğunu anlamak amaçlanmaktadır.
