Abstract
Despite its philosophical legacy, psychology constituted different frontiers by separating itself from the science of faith. In this separation process, modern psychology rewrote its history and denied its background with belief that came from philosophical heritage. Therefore many psychologists didn’t even think that psychology could interest in religion and faith and, they could suply compensative qualities. It is not a wise thinking to ignore religion and belief as human qualities, for they are our important spiritual parts and have a quality that includes all personalities. This article focuses on the necessity of metaphysical, moral and religious beliefs, in the psychological research and psychotherapy and on the possibility of unity of religion and psychology.
Abstract
Felsefî mirasına rağmen psikoloji inanç muhtevalı bir bilimden kendini ayrı tutarak farklı sınırlar oluşturdu. Bu ayrışma sürecinde çağdaş psikoloji kendi tarihini yeniden yazdı ve felsefî gelenekten gelen inançla örülü geçmişini inkâr etti. Bu nedenle birçok psikolog, psikolojinin din ve inançla ilgilenebileceğini ve onların telafi edici nitelikler taşıyabileceğini düşünmüyordu bile. Oysa din ve inanç gibi insanî nitelikleri gözardı etmek pek akıllıca gözükmüyor. Bunlar bizim önemli ruhsal parçalarımızdır ve bütün kişiliği kapsayıcı bir özelliğe sahiptirler. Bu makale psikolojik araştırma ve yardımlarda metafizik, ahlâkî ve dinî inançların dikkate alınmasının lüzumu ve psikoloji-din birlikteliğinin imkânı üzerinde durmaktadır.
