Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is a difference among the first and fourth grade students of Guidance 84. Psychological Counseling as well as between them and the students of Natural and Social Sciences with regard to psychiatric symptoms, subjective well being, self esteem and emphatic tendencies .The study illustrates that emphatic tendencies of the first grade students of Communication Faculty and Guidance & Psychological Counseling Department are significantly higher than those of the students of the Engineering Faculty. It is ascertained that the psychiatric symptoms are significantly lower and the emphatic tendencies are significantly higher in the fourth grade Guidance & Psychological Counseling students when compared with the fourth grade students of Engineering Faculty. Also, it is found that the psychiatric symptoms of the first grade students are higher than the fourth grade students of the same department.
