STATIC AND DINAMIC ANALYSIS OF ELASTIC BEAMS BY BACK-PROPAGATION ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK
Abstract
A multi-layer artificial neural network is developed to give maximum deflection and
vibration frequencies for various support conditions of elastic beams. Back-propagation
training algorithms are used in the study and four support conditions are taken into
considerations. For the maximum deflection value, artificial neural network is trained both
end clamped, clamped-simply supported and both end simply supported conditions.
Cantilever beam boundary conditions, however, are taken in to considerations on the test
stage. On the other hand, the network is tested for both end simply supported and it's trained
other three support condition. Support condition in the static and dynamic analysis are
different both training and test stage. The required datum for training set are obtained from
results of analytical equation for the vibration and deflection analysis of the beams and
Rayleigh solutions. The obtained results are compared with the Rayleigh method and other
numerical solutions technique.
