ERROR ANALYSIS ON COMPOSITION OF ARABIAN LEARNERS OF TURKISH AT TÖMER

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the composition errors of Arab Studentslearning Turkish as a second language at TÖMER (Turkish and Foreign LanguagesResearch and Application Centre). It begins with a brief outline of informationsrelated to Error Analysis. For the purpose of creating a database, the examination papers of twenty studentslearning Turkish in basic, intermediate and high level classes at Tömer areobtained. After that some hypothesis are made leaving from the common or similarerrors of these papers. When we examine these datas, it is possible to particularizecommon errors in various categories. Most of them are interlingual errors arisedfrom the influence of mother tongue (Arabic ) on Turkish. Some of these errors arearised from using grammatical rules of mother tongue. Translation from mothertongue to another is also from errors of them
