Abstract

In the field of English teaching, the number of teachers not preferring to use coursebooks by creating their own teaching materials instead of current printed materialsis increasing gradually. This study examines the possible reasons of use and disuseof course books by presenting the findings of the research investigating a group ofELT teachers’ perception and preference towards the use of course book and offerssome comments on the materials adaptation according to the findings of theresearch
