PREFERENCES OF INSTRUCTORS IN THE DEPARTMENTS OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING TOWARDS USING COURSEBOOKS

Abstract

In the field of English teaching, the number of teachers not preferring to use coursebooks by creating their own teaching materials instead of current printed materialsis increasing gradually. This study examines the possible reasons of use and disuseof course books by presenting the findings of the research investigating a group ofELT teachers’ perception and preference towards the use of course book and offerssome comments on the materials adaptation according to the findings of theresearch

Abstract

İngilizce’nin öğretimi alanında, mevcut basılı araçlar yerine kendi öğretimaraçlarını oluşturarak ders kitabı kullanmayı tercih etmeyen öğretmenlerin sayısıgün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Bu çalışma, ders kitabı kullanma ve kullanmamadavranışlarına ilişkin olası nedenleri inceleyerek, İngiliz Dili Eğitimi bölümlerindeöğretim yapan bir grup öğretmenin ders kitabı kullanımına yönelik algı ve tercihlerini inceleyen araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulguları ortaya koymakta vearaştırma bulgularına dayalı olarak araç uyarlamaya ilişkin bazı yorumlar sunmaktadır
