Abstract

Second Language Acquisition/Research is an academic discipline whichincludes studies related with the acquisition/learning process of any language after first language acquisition. The main issue of this researchfield is second language acquisition. Second Language Acquisition is anumbrella term and at the same time it focuses on second language learnersand their language acquisition process on different contexts. This field andSecond Language Acquisition as a superordinate term correspond to non-formal second language learning process occurring in natural communication context, formal second language learning process takingplace in formal educational settings and combination of these contextualsituations. The knowledge about second language development reflects onteaching field in forming, evaluating and designing language teachingapplications via Instructed Second Language Acquisition. InstructedSecond Language Acquisition has come to the fore as a subfield searchingthe role of formal education on second language development in secondlanguage acquisition researches
