Abstract

The article "The Contribution of Science to Religious Education" discusses how scientific thinking and methods can contribute to religious education. The author defines the primary goal of religious education as character development, emphasizing its role in enabling individuals to make conscious and ethical decisions. Highlighting the traditional focus of religious education on scripture and historical materials, the article explores how modern scientific approaches could be integrated into this field. Science significantly impacts religious education by promoting qualities such as inquisitiveness, an unbiased perspective, and a spirit of continuous improvement. The author argues that attempts to reconcile the Bible with scientific explanations can be misleading and instead advocates for an approach that emphasizes religious texts' moral and spiritual values. The "scientific spirit" provided by science equips religious educators with methods such as openness to new evidence, encouraging critical thinking, and maintaining intellectual integrity. Furthermore, the article stresses the importance of aligning religious education materials with up-to-date scientific knowledge. Bilimin Din Eğitimine Katkısı

Abstract

Bilimin Din Eğitimine Katkısı başlıklı bu makale, bilimsel düşünce ve yöntemlerin din eğitimine nasıl katkı sağlayabileceğini ele almaktadır. Yazar, din eğitiminin temel amacını karakter gelişimi olarak tanımlar ve bu sürecin bireylerin bilinçli ve etik seçimler yapabilmesini sağlamaya yönelik olması gerektiğini savunur. Din eğitiminin geleneksel materyallere odaklandığını belirterek, modern bilimsel yaklaşımların bu alana nasıl entegre edilebileceğini inceler. Bilimin, özellikle sorgulayıcı bir zihin geliştirme, önyargısız yaklaşım ve sürekli öğrenme ruhunu teşvik ederek din eğitimine önemli katkılar sağladığı vurgulanır. Yazar ayrıca, Kutsal Kitap'ın bilimle uzlaştırılmaya çalışılmasının yanıltıcı olabileceğini ve bunun yerine dini metinlerin ruhsal ve ahlaki değerlerini ön plana çıkaran bir yaklaşımın benimsenmesi gerektiğini ifade etmektedir.
