He graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry in 1998. In the same year, he started his doctorate education at Gazi University Health Sciences Institute, Conservative and Endodontics Department. In 2003, he received the title of Doctor of Science in this department. In the same year, he started his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Ondokuz Mayis University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics. He received the title of Associate Professor in the field of Endodontics in 2008. In 2014, he transferred from Ondokuz Mayis University to Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics and received the title of Professor in the same year. He served as the Head of the Department of Endodontics between 2014 and 2023. In addition, he also served as Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry between 2016 and 2024. He is currently a member of the faculty of endodontics at the same faculty.
Prof. Dr. Emre Bodrumlu has many scientific articles published in national and international journals, and congress papers presented at national and international congresses. He also undertook the editor of the International Journal of Dental Sciences, which is scanned by national and international indexes. He is a referee for many national and international journals.

Received his DDS from Gazi University, Turkey in 1998 and accomplished his PhD in periodontology in Cumhuriyet University, Turkey in 2004. Started his post-doctoral training in University of Helsinki, Finland and National Public Health Institute, Helsinki, Finland in 2005. In 2009, appointed as university teacher at the Institute of Dentistry, University of Turku, Finland. Received his associate professorship at the same university in 2010  promoted to professor in 2023.
