Abstract

Bu çalışmada Türkiye GSMH'sının bir zaman serisi modeli çerçevesinde büyümesi incelenerek, 1950-2001 yılları arasında büyüme hızına ilişkin anlamlı parametreler elde edilmeye çalışılmış, GSMH serisinin model olarak uzun dönemli durağan bir denge büyüme oranı vermekten ziyade Tesadüfi Yürüyüş Random Walk modeline uygun, durağan olmayan bir davranış sergilediği gösterilmiş ve farklı dönemlere ait parametreler karşılaştırılarak dönemlere ilişkin önemli yapısal farklılıkların bulunup bulunmadığı sınanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, GSMH büyüme oranının uzun dönemde yıllık yaklaşık % 4.3 trendine sahip olduğu bunun önemli ölçülerde aşıldığı her dönem geriye doğru dönerek trend etrafında dalgalandığı gösterilmektedir.

TURKISH ECONOMY AND SUSTAINABILTY OF GROWTH RATE

Abstract

1950-2001 period’s GNP growth rate of Turkey is explained in a time series framework. It is also explained that the GNP series shows a sort of random behaviour complying with a random walk model ; and the connection with a potential long-term stable growth rate is also discussed. The parameters belonging to sub –periods are compared and any structural differences are tested. As a conclusion, it is also explained that the growth rate of GNP has a long term trend of approximately 4.3% per annum and in cases when it is exceeded to a large extent, it fluctuated around the trend by turning the movement in the opposite direction
