INVESTIGATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INDIVIDUALS’ LEVEL OF HOPE AND THEİR THOUGHTS ABOUT FUTURE BY MULTINOMINAL LOGISTIC REGRESSION ANALYSES
Abstract
In
this study, the relationship between individuals’ level of hope and their
thoughts about future was determined by multinomial logistic regression
analyses. For this purpose, it has been benefited from the data from TSI’ s
2014 Life Satisfaction Survey that was applied to 7984 individuals. In the
first stage of implementation, Chi-Square test of independence were applied to
variables that were thought to have relation with hope level in survey. Study is
made with 4 variables once Non-significant variables were removed. The validity
of the model examined in this study was calculated by the maximum likelihood
estimates and was found significant. Odd ratios of the variables in the model
were obtained. Comparison of three categories was carried out based on the
selected reference categories and depending on the coefficients odds ratios.
For comparison 1, coefficient odds values related to the variables of future
comparison, economic, social rights and public service encounter were found
significant. While for comparison 2, coefficient odds values related to the
variables of future comparison, economic and public service encounter were
found significant; for comparison 3, coefficient odds values related to the variables
of future comparison were found significant.
