THE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING THE SATISFACTION OF DUMLUPINAR UNIVERSITY’S STUDENTS

Abstract

Missions of universities, which have a critical importance about raising people who have global norms in all study areas, especially education, health, engineering, economy, technology, and management, become diversified and thrive as a last step of education-training life. The primary expectation from universities is to given quality education service necessitating of time with physical and technological substructure. Creating proper socio-economic and cultural environment to maintain student life plays subsidiary role to meet these primary expectation, as well.  The level of conditions that prompt different and outstanding qualification of students studying at universities become effective whether expectations of students are met or not and feeling appreciation of students from universities (and academic departments) which they study. In this study, the satisfaction level of students studying at Dumlupınar University and the factors influencing satisfaction levels were tried to determine. By considering unit student number, studying classroom, and education type from among 53.617 students studying in totally 29 academic units connected to Dumlupınar University by academic year of 2015-2016, a statistically significant sample cluster was composed in this scope and it was conducted a satisfaction poll composed from 49 questions to 2.300 students. Afterwards, model prediction with “binary logistic regression analysis” was done and the results were evaluated. It was thought that obtained results contribute presented education-training services including educational, physical, and technological substructure factors with environmental factors, and define and make actual of essential acts improve more.

DUMLUPINAR ÜNİVERSİTESİNDE ÖĞRENİM GÖREN ÖĞRENCİLERİN MEMNUNİYETİNİ ETKİLEYEN FAKTÖRLERİN İSTATİSTİKSEL ANALİZİ

Abstract

Eğitim, sağlık, mühendislik, ekonomi, teknoloji ve yönetim başta olmak üzere, tüm çalışma alanlarında küresel normlara sahip insanların yetiştirilmesinde kritik önemi bulunan üniversitelerin, eğitim-öğretim hayatının son basamağı olarak misyonları da her geçen gün çeşitlenmekte ve zenginleşmektedir. Üniversitelerden öncelikli beklenti, fiziki ve teknolojik altyapı ile birlikte çağın gerektirdiği kaliteli eğitim hizmetinin verilmesidir. Öğrencilik yaşamının sürdürülebileceği uygun sosyo-ekonomik ve kültürel çevre koşullarının oluşturulması da bu öncelikli beklentinin karşılanmasında tamamlayıcı rol oynamaktadır. Üniversitelerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin farklı ve üstün niteliklerini harekete geçirebilecek koşulların düzeyi, öğrencilerin beklentilerinin karşılanıp karşılanamadığı ve öğrenim gördükleri üniversitelerden (ve akademik birimler) duydukları memnuniyet üzerinde etkili olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Dumlupınar Üniversitesinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin memnuniyet düzeyleri ile memnuniyet düzeyleri üzerinde etkili olan faktörler belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu kapsamda, Dumlupınar Üniversitesine bağlı toplam 29 akademik birimde 2015-2016 Akademik Yılı itibariyle öğrenim gören 53.617 öğrenci arasından; birim öğrenci sayısı, öğrenim görülen sınıf ve öğretim şekli dikkate alınarak, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir örneklem kümesi oluşturulmuş ve toplam 2.300 öğrenciye 49 sorudan oluşan memnuniyet anketi uygulanmıştır. Daha sonra, “İkili Lojistik Regresyon Analizi” ile model tahmini yapılmış ve sonuçlar değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçların sunulan eğitim-öğretim hizmetlerinin tüm eğitsel, fiziki ve teknolojik altyapı unsurları ile birlikte çevresel faktörleri de içine alacak şekilde değerlendirilebilmesine ve daha da geliştirilebilmesi için gerekli eylemlerin belirlenip hayata geçirilmesine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.
