Düzce University Journal of Sports Sciences was established to publish original research in sports sciences and related fields. The journal promotes knowledge sharing and contributes to the enrichment of scientific discussions by presenting the latest research results and findings to the academic and scientific community. In this context, the journal enables researchers to reach a wide audience at the national and international levels.

Düzce University Journal of Sports Sciences publishes carefully prepared scientific research on various aspects of physical education and sports sciences, including movement and training, coaching education, sports and health, physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, sociology, psychology, biomechanics, kinesiology, sports management, recreation, and other interdisciplinary topics. The journal accepts various types of works, including research articles, technical notes, review articles, and scientific reports. These works aim to contribute to the development of theoretical and applied knowledge in the field and encourage interdisciplinary interaction.

The journal applies a double-blind peer review process for the publication of original and high-quality research, thereby ensuring that the published works meet academic standards. Published articles are made available to everyone under an open access policy.

Düzce University Journal of Sports Sciences aims to be a valuable resource for researchers, academics, and sports scientists in line with its mission of disseminating and transferring scientific knowledge.

DUJOSS is published twice a year in February and October.

DÜJOSS uses the APA 6th edition citation format. Articles submitted to DÜJOSS must be prepared in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA) style in terms of the reference system, footnote format, and bibliography.   (Detaylı Bilgi; http://www.apastyle.org )

* All articles submitted to Düzce University Journal of Sports Sciences for evaluation must be submitted in accordance with the writing template and the rules stated herein. Manuscripts that do not comply with these rules will be returned to the author for revision. 

* The header and article information sections should not be altered. 

* The Garamond font should be used throughout the article. 

* The title of the article should be written in Garamond - 14 point font.

* The author's title, name, institution, contact and e-mail address should be indicated in this order. Garamond, centred, 8 point author names should be written in italics and bold.

* The abstract should be at least 150 and at most 200 words and should be prepared in Garamond, 10 point. 

* Keywords should be at least 3 and at most 5. 

* In the text, do not use the Enter key to create line breaks or paragraph breaks. 

* Figures should be numbered and their captions should be centred below the figure. Figure captions should be in Garamond 8 point. 

* Tables should be numbered, and table titles should be written at the top of the table, aligned to the left. The text within the table should be in Garamond 8 point font, and the title should be in Garamond 10 point font.
* Except for the sections specified in the text, all text should be written in 11 point font with 1.5 line spacing. 

* Page numbers should not be used in the header or footer. 

* The References heading should not be numbered. All references should be in 10 point Garamond font. 

* When referencing a source within the text, if the work has a single author, cite it as (Author name, year) for works written in Turkish or English. (Example: PEPE, 2025). If the work being referenced has two authors, the reference should be cited as (First author's name and Second author's name, year) for works written in Turkish or English. (Example: Pepe and Öztürk, 2025). If the work you are citing has three or more authors, the reference should be cited as (First author's name and et al., year) for works written in Turkish and English. (Example: Pepe et al., 2025). 

* The declarations section must be completed in full in accordance with the guidelines provided in the writing template. 

* The Copyright Notice Form must also be uploaded to the system along with the article. This form must be signed by all authors. 

* Experimental research involving animals and humans must be conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Helsinki Declaration. This must be stated in the article. 

Word Limits 

* Research Articles: The word count, including the abstract, should not exceed 10,000 words.

* Reviews: The word count, including the abstract, should not exceed 5,000 words. They should contain new and up-to-date information. The number of authors should not exceed three. They should be written upon invitation. 

* Case reports: The word count should not exceed 1,500. 

* Letters to the editor: Should not include an abstract. The word count should not exceed 500. 

DUJOSS observes the standards and principles of publication ethics that must be followed in academic studies regarding publication ethics. All articles that do not comply with ethical standards are removed from publication. This includes articles that have been accepted for publication or found to be in violation of ethics after publication. All stakeholders must fulfill their ethical responsibilities within the scope of publication ethics. 

ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF AUTHORS

* Articles submitted to the journal must not have been submitted to or published in any other journal. Submitting the same article to multiple journals constitutes unethical publishing. 

* Quoted texts must be identified with references.

* Authors submitting articles for review declare that they have not committed plagiarism, that the article is their own original work, that they are solely responsible for any plagiarism or ethical violations, and that the journal bears no responsibility in this regard. 

* Authors are responsible for disclosing all institutions and organizations that support their work, financial sources, or conflicts of interest. 

* Access to the data included in the article must be provided if deemed necessary. Authors are deemed to have declared that they will fulfill these obligations in the work submitted for evaluation.

*Authors should inform the editor and editorial board when they detect an error in their work and cooperate in the correction or retraction process.

*All articles submitted to the Düzce University Journal of Sports Sciences (DUJOSS) should include a statement in the methods section that they comply with Research and Publication Ethics. Information regarding ethical approval (committee name, date, and number) must be included in the methods section. 

* Copyright rules must be followed, and in cases where legal/special permission is required, permission documents must be provided, and all necessary documents must be specified and/or referenced by citing the source for all cases involving photographs, tables, scales, etc. belonging to others. 

Studies that do not comply with these provisions will be returned to the authors.

ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF REVIEWERS

* Ethical Responsibilities for Reviewers Düzce University Journal of Sports Sciences (DUJOSS) uses a double-blind peer review system. Double-blind peer review means that authors are kept anonymous from reviewers and reviewers are kept anonymous from authors to ensure an impartial, objective, and independent evaluation process. Therefore, reviewers should not include any identifying statements in the works they evaluate. In our journal, reviewers cannot see the authors and cannot communicate directly with them. Evaluations and comments are communicated through the journal management system (field editor).

* Reviewers should only review articles related to their areas of expertise.

* Reviewers are responsible for not evaluating articles and reporting any conflicts of interest or relationships with the work and/or authors.

* Reviewers should evaluate articles impartially and objectively.

* Reviewers must keep the works they receive confidential and may not use the information they obtain from the review process for personal gain.

* Reviewers are required to complete the Reviewer Evaluation Form for the articles they evaluate. To avoid compromising the double-blind review process, they are expected not to include their names in the revision suggestions document. Reviewers must also indicate their decision regarding whether the article is publishable and the rationale for their decision in the Reviewer Evaluation Form.

* Reviewers keep all processes from the acceptance stage to the publication process confidential and do not use or share the information and documents obtained.

* Reviewers are responsible for reporting any unethical situations related to the work to the editor.

* Personal criticism of authors should be avoided, and evaluations should be conducted using a neutral, honest, polite, and constructive language, taking into account scientific principles and fundamentals, without being influenced by individual feelings and thoughts.

* Referees should take care not to let the personal information of authors (gender, nationality, religious beliefs, political views, etc.) influence the scientific evaluation during the article evaluation process and should be aware that they are legally responsible for this.


ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD
* The editor is responsible for striving to improve the quality of the journal and contribute to its development.

* The editor should request that referees evaluate articles that are appropriate to their knowledge and expertise. This ensures that articles are evaluated appropriately by experts in the field.

* In the evaluation process, works that are highly original, prepared in accordance with the journal's objectives and ethical rules should be included in the evaluation process. Care should be taken to invite reviewers related to the subject of the work, and the decision-making process should be conducted objectively in accordance with ethical rules, taking into account detailed and careful evaluations.

* Editors should ensure coordination between reviewers and authors while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines, thereby contributing to the evaluation process as needed.

* Editors are responsible for taking precautions against conflicts of interest and conflicts that may arise between authors, reviewers, and third parties in order to ensure that articles are evaluated impartially and independently. Decisions should be based on the accuracy, validity, and importance of the article and its suitability for the scope of the journal. Ethical values and legal requirements related to copyright infringement, defamation, and plagiarism must also be taken into account. In addition, editors are responsible for providing clear and informative responses to complaints from reviewers, authors, and readers.

* The editor or any member of the editorial board should not disclose information about an article to anyone other than the relevant author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and publishers.

* Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted article should not be used by the editor or editorial board in their own research without the author's express written permission.

If the specified Ethical Principles and Publication Policy rules are not followed, the article will be rejected.
