Sürdürülebilir su yönetimi yaklaşımı: Dicle Üniversitesi eğitim yapısı yağmur suyu hasadı potansiyeli

Abstract

Sürdürülebilir mimarlık malzeme kullanımından, enerji ve su döngüsü yönetime değin bir çok farklı konuda çevresel, ekonomik ve sosyal boyutuyla ele alınmaktadır. Su döngüsüne çevresel katkı sunan; sarnıçlardan, sürdürülebilir binalara, göletlere farklı ölçek ve amaçlarla yağmur suyu toplama sistemleri ülkemizde sürdürülebilir bir yaklaşım olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışma kapsamında da ülkemizde mevzuatta zorunlu tutulmayan eğitim ve yurt binalarında yağmur suyu hasadı potansiyeli Diyarbakır iklim koşulları özelinde araştırılmış, literatüre bağlamsal bir katkı sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada yıl boyunca elde edilebilecek potansiyel yağmur suyu miktarının belirlenmesi, bu miktarın hacimsel güvenirliği ile ne oranda potansiyel katkı sağlayacağının ortaya konması, farklı senaryolarda depo hacminin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma literatür ve yerel rehberde yer alan metodoloji çerçevesinde hibrit bir yaklaşımla kurgulanmıştır. Saha çalışması için Diyarbakır Dicle Üniversitesi Mühendislik ve Mimarlık Fakülteleri ile Sivil Havacılık Yüksekokulu’nun bulunduğu çatı yüzeyi geniş olan 5 bloklu kompakt yapı seçilmiştir. Örneklem olarak seçilen binanın çatı alan hesabı CBS tabanlı QGİS programı kullanılarak hesaplanmıştır. Çatıdan elde edilecek su miktarının teorik (mevcut) potansiyeli ve kullanılabilir/hasat edilebilir potansiyeli ile bina içinde temizlik, bina dışında da ortak peyzaj sulamasında kullanılabilirliği/hacimsel güvenirliği literatürde yer alan hesaplama yöntemi ile tespit edilmiştir. Rehber Doküman’da (2022) yer alan su ihtiyacı ve depo hacmi hesaplama yöntemi ile farklı senaryolara göre kurgulanarak depo hacmi hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilebilecek su miktarı ile bina içi temizliğinde ihtiyacın tamamı, bina dışı sulamada önemli bir bölümünü karşılayarak tasarruf sağlanabileceği tespit edilmiştir. Hasat arzı potansiyelinin kurgulanan bina içi kullanımdan yüksek olması bu miktarın farklı kullanımlarda değerlendirilebileceğini göstermektedir. Elde edilebilir yağmur suyu miktarını ile kullanıma amacına göre tasarlanabilecek sistemin su maliyetini azaltabileceği ve çevresel katkı sağlayabileceği düşünülmektedir.

Sustainable water management approach: Rainwater harvesting potential of Dicle University's educational structure

Abstract

Sustainable architecture addresses environmental, economic, and social dimensions in many different areas, from material use to energy and water cycle management. Rainwater harvesting systems, ranging from cisterns to sustainable buildings and ponds, are used in our country as a sustainable approach that contributes to the water cycle environmentally. This study investigates the potential for rainwater harvesting in educational and dormitory buildings, not mandated by legislation in Turkey, specifically under the climatic conditions of Diyarbakır, aiming to provide a contextual contribution to the literature. The study aims to determine the potential amount of rainwater that can be obtained throughout the year, to establish the volumetric reliability of this amount and the potential contribution it will provide, and to determine the storage volume in different scenarios. The study is structured using a hybrid approach within the framework of the methodology found in the literature and local guidelines. For the field study, a compact, five-block structure with a large roof surface, housing the Engineering and Architecture Faculties and the Civil Aviation College of Dicle University in Diyarbakır, was selected. The roof area of the selected building was calculated using the GIS-based QGIS program. The theoretical (current) potential and usable/harvestable potential of the amount of water to be obtained from the roof, as well as its usability/volumetric reliability for indoor cleaning and outdoor common landscape irrigation, were determined using the calculation method found in the literature. The water demand and storage volume calculation method included in the Guidance Document (2022) was used to calculate the storage volume according to different scenarios. It was determined that the amount of water that can be obtained can meet all of the needs for indoor cleaning and a significant portion for outdoor irrigation, thus providing savings. The fact that the harvested supply potential is higher than the planned indoor use indicates that this amount can be utilized in different applications. It is believed that a system designed according to the amount of rainwater available and its intended use could reduce water costs and provide environmental benefits.
