Kestane kanserine karsı dayanıklı olduğu belirtilen fidanlar Gerçekten dayanıklı mı?

Abstract

Cryphonectria parasitica’ nın neden olduğu Kestane Kanseri hastalığı ülkemizde kestane ağaçlarının
en önemli hastalığıdır. Bu hastalığa karsı dünyada yaygın olarak düsük virulanslı (hypovirulent) streynlerle
mücadele edilmektedir. Ancak bunun uygulanması ve etkinliği belli kosullara bağlıdır, bu nedenle bu
mücadele yöntemine alternatif arayıslar hep olmustur. Bunlardan birisi de hastalığa dayanıklı fidanlar
yetistirmektir. Bu çalısmada, Baykal adlı biyopreparatının uygulandığı ve kestane kanserine dayanıklı olduğu
belirtilen fidanların Kestane Kanserine karsı dayanıklı olup olmadığı yapay inokülasyonlarla arastırılmıstır.
Yapılan inokülasyon çalısmaları sonucunda, uygulamadan 45 gün sonra biyopreparat uygulanan kestane
fidanlarında ortalama 2.4 cm uzunluğunda kanser olustuğu bulunmustur. Aynı süre sonunda biyopreperat
uygulanmayan fidanlardaki ortalama kanser boyu ise 3.6 cm bulunmustur.
