The Effcet Of Accountants' Emotional Intelligence Level On Their Organizational Commitment

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to measure the effects of accountant’s emotional intelligence level on their organizational commitments’. The relationships between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment have been examined by using Bar-On’s five–component model of emotional intelligence, and Meyer and Allen’s three-component model of organizational commitment. The authors’ analysis results of the data from a sample consisting of randomly selected accountants (Trainers, CA and CPA) who work dependent to accounting firms (CA and CPA firms) from various regions in Turkey (n=470) show emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment and also each of three sub-dimensions of organizational commitment: the affective, continuance, and normative organizational commitment

MUHASEBECİLERİN DUYGUSAL ZEKA DÜZEYLERİNİN ÖRGÜTSEL BAĞLILIKLARI ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, muhasebecilerin duygusal zeka düzeylerinin, örgütsel bağlılık ve boyutları üzerindeki etkisini ölçmektir. Duygusal zeka ve örgütsel bağlılık değişkenleri arasındaki ilişkiler Bar-On (1997) tarafından geliştirilen ve beş alt boyuttan oluşan duygusal zeka modeli ile Meyer ve Allen (1984;1997) tarafından geliştirilen ve üç alt boyuttan oluşan örgütsel bağlılık modeli ele alınarak incelenmiştir. Türkiye’nin çeşitli illerindeki muhasebe bürolarında bağımlı olarak çalışan toplam 470 muhasebecinin katılımıyla oluşan örneklemden toplanan veriler esas alınarak yapılan analizlerin sonuçları muhasebecilerin duygusal zeka düzeylerinin gerek örgütsel bağlılığında; gerekse örgütsel bağlılığın alt boyutları olan duygusal, devam ve normatif bağlılıkları üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve pozitif yönde bir etkisinin olduğunu göstermektedir
