KOLCABA’S COMFORT THEORY

Abstract

Comfort is a term that has a significant historical and contemporary association with nursing. Roy, Orlando, Watson, Paterson and other theorists use comfort in nursing theories. Comfort theory was developed by Kolcaba. Her theory provides a broader view encompassing many elements of care. The comfort is defined as; “an expected result of a complex conformation of providing peace and help about individual’s needs in a physical, psycho-spiritual, social and environmental entity to overcome the problems”. Abstract

Konfor, hemşirelikle ilişkili tarihsel ve güncel öneme sahip bir kavramdır. Roy, Orlando, Watson, Paterson ve diğer kuramcılar hemşirelik kuramlarında konfor kavramını kullanmışlardır. Konfor kuramı Kolcaba tarafından geliştirilmiştir. Kuram, bakımın birçok yönünü kapsayan geniş bir bakış açısı sağlamaktadır. Konfor kavramı; “bireyin gereksinimleri ile ilgili yardım, huzur sağlama ve sorunların üstesinden gelebilmeye ilişkin fiziksel, psikolojik, sosyal ve çevresel bütünlük içerisinde kompleks yapıya sahip beklenen bir sonuç” olarak tanımlamaktadır.
