Academia Journal of Educational Research

Academia Journal of Educational Research (e-ISSN: 2619-9351) aims to present scientific studies in the field of Educational Sciences to scientists and contribute to science. In addition, it aims to bring new perspectives to different fields of education with an interdisciplinary approach.

Our journal, which is independent, double blind peer-reviewed, open access and online, accepts academic studies written in Turkish and English. The studies submitted to the journal should not have been published before or should not be in the evaluation process on another platform. Scientific studies that comply with the writing rules and the scope of the journal are sent to at least two referees who are experts in their fields for scientific evaluation.

The Editorial Board follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) criteria and carries out the evaluation process by taking into account the comments of the referees.

Article Application Requirements
Original, unpublished scientific studies in the field of educational sciences, which are not in the evaluation process on another platform, and whose content and submission have been approved by the author or authors, are accepted for evaluation.

Target audience; academicians working in the field of educational sciences, public and private institution employees, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, researchers, teachers and administrators.

Font Family
Palatino Linotype, article title 12 point, main headings and text 11 point. Each paper should consist of the following main headings:

Title
The title of the article should clearly reflect its content and be comprehensive. The first letter of each word should be capitalized, except for conjunctions.

Abstract
The abstract should clearly and concisely reflect the purpose, scope, methodology, results, and original value of the study.

Keywords
At least 3 and up to 5 keywords that reflect the integrity of the study should be determined.

Introduction
The scientific counterpart of the study topic, its importance, research problem and objectives, and theoretical framework should be detailed in the introduction section.

Methodology
The research design, population/sample/study group, data collection tools, validity and reliability, data analysis, and ethical committee approval for the research should be detailed in the methodology section.

Findings
The findings obtained in the research should be explained with relevant tables, figures, graphs, or images in a manner that supports the purpose and problem of the study and preserves its integrity.

Discussion, Conclusions, and Recommendations
In light of the importance of the research, the findings should be discussed in relation to the literature and the authors' comments. The main ideas that emerge from the discussions should be explained in the conclusions section. Recommendations should be made in line with the discussion and conclusions of the study. It should also include recommendations for future studies and applications in the field that will contribute to the literature.

Acknowledgments
Acknowledgments should be made to individuals or institutions that have made small contributions to the research.

References
The reference list should be prepared in accordance with APA 6 citation guidelines.

Ethics Committee Approval
In our journal, approval from the relevant committee is required for all studies that require ethics committee approval. Surveys, experiments, observations, clinical and animal studies, and research involving personal data are subject to ethics committee approval. This approval should be clearly stated in the article text. Studies without ethical approval will not be considered for review. Scientific research involving humans and animals must be conducted in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration and ARRIVE guidelines and must obtain approval from the relevant ethics committee. Studies without ethics committee approval will not be considered for review in our journal.

Author Contribution Rates/Conflict of Interest
In studies with multiple authors, the contribution rates and conflict of interest statements of the authors must be submitted to our journal at the time of submission.

Use of Artificial Intelligence
In studies submitted to our journal, the use of artificial intelligence in processes that do not affect the originality of the article, such as literature review or language control, is acceptable. However, the use of artificial intelligence must be carried out within the framework of ethical rules and must not be used for unethical purposes such as fabricating data or manipulation.
For studies involving the use of artificial intelligence, it is mandatory to provide information about this situation to our journal during the article submission process. All responsibility regarding the use of artificial intelligence lies with the authors themselves.

NOTE: In studies derived from postgraduate theses, information about the thesis (thesis title, year of completion, university name, advisor, and student names) must be provided during the article submission process. In studies derived from postgraduate theses, the first author and the author with the highest contribution must be a student.

Academia Journal of Educational Research attaches importance to preserving the integrity of research as well as the integrity of academic content, publication ethics, and the publication process. In this context, it has adopted the guidelines and policies published by the Higher Education Council and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in order to achieve and maintain international publication standards. In all publication processes implemented in Academia Education Research Journal, it is of great importance that all stakeholders (authors, readers and researchers, publishers, referees, and editors) comply with ethical standards.

Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism is an unethical act that involves copying another person's previous ideas, processes, results, and words without clearly acknowledging the original source or author.
Academia Education Research Journal is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles and reviews on education research.
Submitted articles are evaluated according to a double-blind peer review system. Academia Education Research Journal and its board members take plagiarism seriously and act with diligence.

Plagiarism Evaluation Principles
1- Articles that have not been previously published or are not currently under review by another journal and have been approved by each author are accepted for evaluation.
2- Submitted articles are scanned for plagiarism using the intihal.net software during the upload process, and the software sends an informational email to the author. The similarity percentage in the articles must be less than 20% excluding sources.
3- The author continues the process of uploading their work to the journal based on the results of the plagiarism software.
4- All authors submitting articles to the journal are expected to comply with ethical standards and avoid any form of plagiarism (complete, partial, or self-plagiarism).
5- Works suspected of containing plagiarism are first reviewed by the journal's Editorial Board.
6- The journal requests information from the author(s) of the suspected work. If no information is received within 15 days, the journal contacts the author's institution to request an investigation of the allegation.

ETHICS COMMITTEE APPROVAL
Our journal requires that all studies in scientific fields that require ethics committee approval have obtained the relevant ethics committee decision. In this context, authors must include the date and number of the Ethics Committee approval in the “Sample and Method/Materials and Methods” section.
In line with the regulations implemented by Ulakbim TR Index since 2020, studies without ethical committee approval are not considered for publication in our journal.

Studies Requiring Ethical Committee Approval
Studies requiring ethical committee approval in our journal include the following:
• All research conducted using qualitative or quantitative approaches that involve collecting data from participants through methods such as surveys, interviews, focus group studies, observations, experiments, and interviews,
• Studies in which humans and animals (including materials or data) are used for experimental or other scientific purposes,
• Clinical research conducted on humans,
• Scientific research conducted on animals,
• Retrospective studies within the framework of the Personal Data Protection Law.
For such studies to be considered for evaluation, the relevant ethical committee approvals must have been obtained and these approvals must be clearly stated in the article text.

Correction, Retraction, Expression of Concern
If editors identify minor errors in a published article that do not affect the findings, interpretations, or conclusions, they may consider publishing a correction. If there are major errors/violations that invalidate the findings and conclusions, editors should consider retracting the article. COPE principles are taken into account with regard to corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

Protection of Intellectual Property Rights
Our journal is responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all published articles and defending the rights of the journal and authors in cases of potential infringement.

Protection of Participants' Personal Data
All personal data submitted to our journal is protected in accordance with legal regulations and ethical guidelines.

Conflict of Interest
Authors must clearly disclose any financial or other significant conflicts of interest that could influence their findings or interpretations in their articles. Potential conflicts of interest that must be disclosed include consulting activities, salary payments, and grant support. Such conflicts of interest should be disclosed at the earliest possible stage.

Financial Support
Authors must clearly disclose any financial support provided by any organization in the context of their work in the article text.

Author Changes
Only processed before the article is accepted. Authors must carefully review the list of authors and their order before submitting their articles and provide the final list of authors at the time of original submission.

Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
1. The work submitted by the author(s) must be original.
2. The author(s) must cite and/or quote other sources completely and accurately when using them.
3. Individuals who have not contributed to the work should not be listed as authors.
4. Any conflicts of interest or relationships that may arise in connection with the work submitted for publication must be disclosed.
5. Authors must be prepared to submit raw data and information related to their work to the editorial board and scientific committee upon request.
6. Authors must indicate whether their work requires Ethical Committee Approval. Ethics Committee Approval must be uploaded to the system, and the date and approval numbers must be included in the article.
7. Authors should not submit their work to more than one journal.
8. If authors discover an error in their work during the review process, the journal editor is responsible for correcting or retracting it.

Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
Editors should adhere to the ethical duties and responsibilities outlined in the guidelines and policies published by the Higher Education Council and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These duties and responsibilities are summarized below.
Editors' Relations with Readers
Editors are responsible for considering feedback from readers, researchers, and practitioners regarding published works and providing the necessary responses and actions.
Editors' Relations with Authors
• Editors make decisions regarding articles based on their original value, the journal's objectives, and ethical rules.
• Articles with high original value that have been prepared in accordance with the journal's objectives and ethical rules should be included in the evaluation process.
• Editors and section editors should take into account positive referee opinions unless there is an important reason not to do so.
• They should respond to requests and opinions from authors with feedback.
Editors' Relations with Reviewers
• Reviewers should be selected based on their suitability for the article's subject matter.
• Care should be taken to ensure that there is no conflict of interest or relationship between the reviewer and the authors.
• The editor is responsible for guiding reviewers during the article evaluation process and providing them with the information they request.
• The editor is responsible for keeping the identities of the authors and reviewers confidential through blind peer review.
• Editors must take the necessary precautions and measures to ensure that referees evaluate articles in a timely, impartial, and scientific manner.
• Editors must strive to increase the number of referees for the journal.
Relations between editors and the advisory board
• Editors must take into account the opinions and recommendations of the advisory board regarding articles.
• Editors' relations with the journal owner and publisher
• Editors' decisions regarding articles must be independent of the journal owner and publishing organization.
• Editors' publication of articles.
• Editors are responsible for ensuring that articles published in the journal comply with the journal's publication principles, objectives, and international standards.
• Protection of personal data
• Editors are responsible for not disclosing the personal information of article authors to third parties without their consent.

Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
1. Accepting to evaluate only works related to their area of expertise,
2. To evaluate objectively and confidentially,
3. To use the works they have reviewed after publication,
4. To evaluate impartially without regard to nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or commercial concerns,
5. To use constructive and polite language in evaluation statements and to refrain from personal comments,
6. To evaluate the work in a timely manner,

Academia Journal of Educational Research does not request any fees for article submission, reviewing and editing processes.

Academia Journal of Educational Research does not pay any fees to authors, reviewers, editors and editorial board members.

Academia Journal of Educational Research sign on to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), which promotes free access to research literature, and has adopted the Open Access Principles that clarified in this initiative.
