In this study, the purpose is to examine the attitudes of mathematics teachers towards mathematics classes in terms of some variables. The study is a Descriptive Study in Literature Review Design. The study population consists of 315 class teachers working in the cities of Artvin and Aydın. The study was conducted in 2015 - 2016 Academic year, and questionnaires were used as data collection tool. The dataset obtained for the purpose of examining the attitudes of class teachers towards mathematics classes in the study were analyzed in SPSS 22.0 package program. Frequency tables, reliability and validity analyses, Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin sampling adequacy criteria, Bartlett Test, factor analysis, independent sampling t-test, One Way Variance Analysis, and Tukey Tests were made use of in the analyses. According to the results of the study, a significant difference was detected between the age and educational status variables (p < 0,05). When the educational status of the participants who were 59 years old and below was examined, it was observed that the majority had undergraduate educational status; and it was also observed that 75% of those who were at and over the age of 60 had foundation degrees, and 25% had undergraduate degrees. It was also determined that the frequency of assigning homework by women participants was more than the male participants. The viewpoints of the male participants on having 3 hours of mathematics classes per week in Educational Faculty, Class teachers Department given in 3rd grade was more positive than the female participants. No significant relations were determined between the experiences of the teachers and assigning homework variables.
It was recommended that the number of the mathematics classes should be increased and the contents should be enhanced. In addition, it was also recommended that the mathematics classes should be an agreement with the primary school curriculum.
