Investigation of The Relationship Between High School Teachers' Individual Innovativeness Perceptions And Their Attitudes Towards Educational Research
Abstract

The purpose of
this study is to examine the change in attitudes of high school teachers
towards educational research according to their perceptions of individual
innovativeness. The sample of the study includes 341 branch teachers who work
in the high schools depending on Ardahan and Kars Directorate of National
Education in 2015-2016 academic years. As a data collection tool in research,
“Individual Innovativeness scale” and “of educational surveys attitude scale”
was used. In this descriptive study the standard deviation, arithmetic mean,
Pearson product moment correlation and multiple linear regression analysis
have been benefited in the analysis of the data. According to the results of
the study, risk taking dimension which is one of the individual innovativeness
dimensions has been the highest perceived one but the dimension of caring
educational surveys has been identified as the one which is perceived at the
highest level considered the distribution of the attitudes towards
educational surveys. When the results of the regression analysis are
examined, it has been seen that Resistance to Change” and “Openness to
Experience” dimensions of individual innovativeness and the attitudes of
teachers towards educational surveys were predicted positively and significantly.
It has been concluded that openness to experience of individual
innovativeness dimension is the positive and significant predictor of the
dimensions of necessity of educational surveys and 'Valuing Educational
Surveys. Also, resistance to change dimension of individual innovativeness is
the positive and significant predictor of Applicability of Educational
Surveys. |
