Archiving Policy
Eurasian Journal of Media, Communication, and Culture Studies uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to support the creation of permanent digital archives by participating libraries for preservation and restoration purposes.
The LOCKSS Program, based on Stanford University Libraries, is an award-winning, low-cost, open-source digital preservation tool that provides libraries and publishers with permanent access to digital content. The LOCKSS Program operates on the principle of "ensuring the security of multiple copies" and is a library-led digital preservation system.
LOCKSS allows libraries to ensure secure access to subscribed e-content and its preservation, while also restoring the traditional print acquisition model that libraries are familiar with.
The technical infrastructure and security measures used for LOCKSS technology are explained in detail on this page: Learn more about how LOCKSS works.
Eurasian Journal of Media, Communication, and Culture Studies ensures the secure archiving of its digital content via the LOCKSS system, providing access to future researchers and maintaining long-term availability.
