Article Review Process
Eurasian Journal of Media, Communication, and Culture Studies applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the scientific quality and credibility of each published article. This process maintains anonymity for both the authors and the reviewers, fostering an objective and unbiased evaluation environment.
Below are the detailed stages of the article review process for our journal:
1. Article Submission and Initial Review
After an article is submitted by the author through the journal’s online system (ULAKBİM DergiPark), it undergoes an initial review by the editors. At this stage, the editors check if the article aligns with the journal’s scope and submission guidelines. Additionally, plagiarism detection software is used to ensure the originality of the work. If the article passes this initial check, it will be sent for peer review.
2. Reviewer Selection
Editors select independent and impartial reviewers who are experts in the field of the article. The identities of the reviewers are kept confidential (double-blind peer review). The reviewers are assigned to evaluate the article and provide their feedback within a specified period.
3. Peer Review
Selected reviewers thoroughly assess the article based on the following criteria:
• Scientific Contribution and Novelty: The new knowledge, theory, or perspective the article contributes to the field.
• Methodological Rigor: The appropriateness and accuracy of the research methods used.
• Clarity and Language: The clarity of writing and adherence to academic writing standards.
• References and Citations: The reliability of sources and correctness of citations.
• Validity of Results: The credibility and accuracy of the research findings.
Each reviewer provides a comprehensive report on the article and gives recommendations. The feedback from reviewers helps improve the article’s quality and ensure its scientific validity.
4. Review Outcomes and Author Feedback
After reviewing the article, the editors analyze the reviewers' comments and share the results with the authors. This stage outlines any required revisions or additions. Authors are then asked to revise their articles based on the feedback provided by the reviewers and resubmit the article.
The article can result in one of the following decisions:
• Accepted: The article is accepted for publication without requiring any further revisions.
• Revised and Resubmitted: The article is accepted conditionally, provided that the author makes the necessary revisions, and resubmits it for further evaluation.
• Rejected: The article is deemed unsuitable for publication after the review process.
5. Final Decision
Once the authors make the necessary revisions, the article is resubmitted for final evaluation. After the final round of reviews, editors and reviewers make the final decision, and the article is either accepted for publication or rejected.
6. Publication
Accepted articles are then processed for publication and prepared for print. The article is included in the journal’s next issue, which will be published online.
Eurasian Journal of Media, Communication, and Culture Studies is committed to ensuring a transparent, objective, and reliable peer review process, always adhering to academic ethics. The collaboration between authors, reviewers, and editors fosters the journal’s scientific integrity and enhances its academic quality
