Abstract
The Covid 19 pandemic was first seen in Wuhan, China at the end of 2019 and affected the whole world. The pandemic has affected all sectors in different severities and has forced governments, society, and companies to develop strategies to deal with the global epidemic. Food sector is an essential industry since it meets the basic needs of people that they cannot give up even in extraordinary situations. In this sense, the study aims to examine the retail food sector, in the 3-year period between 2019-2021 when Covid 19 was effective on the world. Performance indicators for companies in the retail food industry traded in Borsa Istanbul were determined, and the importance level of these indicators was calculated using the SWARA method. Obtained importance levels were analyzed with TOPSIS method, which is one of the most used multi-criteria decision making methods. As a result of the performance evaluation carried out in two stages, BİM A.Ş. took the first place in 2019, Migros took the second place, while the first company was Migros, the second company BİM AŞ, within the framework of the criteria determined in 2020 and 2021. Other retail food companies included in the analysis rank next in performance.
