A STUDY INTO THE HUMAN FIGURE DRAWINGS OF PRESCHOOL STUDENTS DEPENDING ON GENDER IN TERMS OF DEVELOPMENT ASPECT

Abstract

Abstract
The current study, which was carried out to determine the human figure drawings of preschool students depending on gender in terms of developmental aspect is a descriptive study. A total 235 students attending to official kindergartens and the ones within primary schools under the Ministry of Education, in the city of Bolu were included in the study. The human figures that were made to draw by the students in order to collect data were analyzed through the method of "Human Figure Drawing" of Koppitz used for the children at the age of 5-12. The data obtained were analyzed in the program of SPSS 11.5. The correlation of each item with gender, with each age group in itself, was examined through chi-square. It was found that there was a correlation between gender and many items in the statistical analyses.

Abstract

Öz
Okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının insan figürü çizimlerinin gelişimsel açıdan cinsiyete göre incelenmesi amacı ile yapılan bu araştırma, betimsel türde bir çalışmadır. Araştırmaya Bolu il merkezinde, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı bağımsız anaokulları ve ilköğretim bünyesindeki anasınıflarına devam eden toplam 235 çocuk alınmıştır. Veri toplamak amacı ile çocuklara çizdirilen insan figürleri, Koppitz'in 5-12 yaş çocuklar için kullanılan "İnsan Figürü Çizim" yöntemi kullanılarak, incelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, SPSS 11.5 paket programı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Veriler değerlendirilirken, her yaş grubu kendi içinde olmak üzere, cinsiyet ile her bir itemle arasındaki ilişkiye ki-kare testi ile bakılmıştır. İstatistiksel değerlendirmelerde, birçok item ile cinsiyet arasında ilişkinin olduğu saptanmıştır.
