Understanding and correct perception of the nature of science has been regarded as one of the most important components of scientific literacy for many years. However, the results of the studies showed that teachers and students do not have adequate conceptualization of the nature of science. The aim of this research, in which case study method was used, is to examine pre-service teachers’ views on the nature of science. The study group comprised 12 pre-service teachers: four pre-service science teachers, four pre-service classroom teachers, and four pre-service pre-school teachers. While selecting the participants, the problem of the research was taken into consideration, and purposive sampling technique was used. When the results of the study were examined, it was concluded that pre-service teachers had lack of knowledge and misconceptions about the nature of science. It was recommended that different activities be carried out to improve understanding of the nature of science and to eliminate misconceptions about this topic, and that qualitative data be supported by quantitative ones.
