Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science Open Access Policy

The journal is an open-access publication. As of January 2022, all content published in the journal is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) 4.0 International License, which allows third parties to use the content for non-commercial purposes provided they cite the original work. This license encourages the dissemination and use of research published in the journal by allowing the sharing and adaptation of content for non-commercial purposes.

Content published prior to January 2022 was licensed under traditional copyright, but the archive is still freely accessible. All published content is freely accessible online at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ethabd/archive. When using previously published content in both print and electronic formats, including figures, tables, or any other material, authors must obtain permission from the copyright holder. The legal, financial, and criminal responsibilities in this regard belong to the author(s) of the Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science.

Copyright Policy: Each submission must be accompanied by a Copyright Agreement and Authorship Acknowledgment form (available at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ethabd). By signing this form, authors reserve the copyright to their work and agree that if the article is accepted for publication by the Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science, it will be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) 4.0 International License, which allows third parties to share and adapt the content for non-commercial purposes; this license requires proper attribution of the original work. When using previously published content, including figures, tables, or any other material, authors must obtain permission from the copyright holder. The legal, financial, and criminal responsibilities in this regard belong to the author(s). Authors reserve the copyright to the works published in the Erciyes Journal of Agriculture and Animal Sciences.

Archiving Policy: Authors reserve the right to self-archive their work on institutional or personal websites and in open access repositories after publication. Authors are expected to properly cite the original publication and include the DOI number when sharing their articles.

Publication Fee Policy

Authors are not charged any fees for the evaluation and publication process.

Sponsorship and Advertising: The Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science does not accept sponsorship or advertising as part of its publication policies.
Copyright Transfer: Submissions to the Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science must be original works that have not been previously published in full text or submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors must waive their copyright and transfer it to the Erciyes Journal of Agriculture and Animal Sciences along with the submission for evaluation. The Editorial Board of the Erciyes Journal of Agriculture and Animal Sciences is authorized to decide on the publication of the article. Authors submitting works to the Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science must complete the "Copyright Transfer Form". The author(s) must sign the completed form with a wet signature. The signed form should be scanned and uploaded to the system using the file upload option in step 4 of the submission process. Works submitted by authors who do not submit the Copyright Transfer Form will not be published. Authors are required to provide information on "Researcher contribution rate statement" and "Author conflict statement" at the end of the article.
Blind Peer Review and Evaluation Process: Blind peer review is a method applied to ensure the highest quality publication of scientific works. This method forms the basis of the objective evaluation process of scientific studies and is preferred by many scientific journals. Peer review opinions have a decisive place in the publication quality of Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science. All works submitted to Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science are evaluated blindly according to the stages specified below.
Type of Blind Peer Review: Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science uses the double-blind method in the evaluation process of all works. In the double-blind method, the identities of the authors and reviewers are kept confidential.
Initial Evaluation Process: Works submitted to Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science are first evaluated by the editors. At this stage, studies that do not conform to the journal's aims and scope, are weak in terms of language and expression rules in both English, contain critical scientific errors, lack originality, and do not meet the publication policies are rejected. Authors of rejected studies are notified within two weeks of the submission date. Studies deemed suitable are sent to a section editor specializing in the relevant field for preliminary evaluation. Preliminary Evaluation Process: In the preliminary evaluation process, section editors thoroughly examine the introduction, materials and methods, findings, conclusions, evaluation, and discussion sections of the studies in terms of the journal's publication policies and scope, and originality. Studies deemed unsuitable as a result of this review are returned within four weeks at the latest, along with the section editor's evaluation report.

Peer Review Process: Studies are sent to reviewers according to their content and the reviewers' areas of expertise. The section editor reviewing the study suggests at least two reviewers from the Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science reviewer pool according to their areas of expertise, or may suggest new reviewers suitable for the study's field. Care is taken to ensure that each reviewer is from a different institution and not from the same institution as the reviewers. Referee recommendations from the section editor are evaluated by the editors, and the works are sent to the referees. Referees are required to guarantee that they will not share any process or documents related to the works they review. Referee Review Process: Referees are given 4 weeks for the referee review process. Authors are required to complete any revision suggestions received from referees or editors within 1 month. Referees can decide on the suitability of a work by reviewing the revisions, or they can request revisions multiple times if necessary.
Review Result: The opinions received from the referees are reviewed by the section editor within a maximum of 2 weeks. Following this review, the section editor communicates their final decision regarding the work to the editors.

Editorial Board Decision: Based on the opinions of the editors, the section editor, and the reviewers, the editorial board prepares its opinion on the study. The prepared opinions, along with the suggestions of the section editor and reviewers, are communicated to the author(s) by the editor within a maximum of one week. Studies receiving negative opinions during this process are returned without a plagiarism check.

Submission: Authors wishing to submit a study for evaluation in the Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science can do so by registering with the journal management system at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ethabd.
Authors: Authors are obligated to cooperate with the journal editor in retraction procedures if they notice any errors or mistakes in their published, early view, or under-review work.

Withdrawal of Articles: Authors wishing to withdraw their work under review must submit a scanned copy of the withdrawal request, signed by each author, to the editorial board via email at erciyestarimvehayvanbilimlerid@gmail.com. The Editorial Board will review the withdrawal notification and respond within one week at the latest. Authors cannot submit their work to another journal for evaluation unless the withdrawal request is approved by the Editorial Board, for works whose copyrights have been transferred to the Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science during the submission process.

Editors: The Editorial Board of the Journal of Erciyes Agriculture and Animal Science is obligated to initiate an investigation into any suspected copyright infringement or plagiarism in a published, in-print, or under-review work. If the Editorial Board determines that copyright infringement or plagiarism has occurred in a work under evaluation as a result of the investigation, it will withdraw the work from evaluation and return it to the authors, detailing the identified issues and citing the sources. If the Editorial Board determines that copyright infringement or plagiarism has occurred in a published or in-print work, it will carry out the following withdrawal and notification procedures within one week at the latest.
