I am working as an Associate Professor of plant biotechnology at Mersin University, Türkiye. I received my Ph.D. with a dissertation on ‘Identification of Genomic Regions for Various Agronomic Traits in Turkish Common Bean Germplasm with Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS)’ from the Department of Field Crops, Faculty of Agricultural and Natural Science, Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University, Bolu-Türkiye in 2019. I joined Sivas University of Science and Technology as an Assistant Professor in 2020 and received an Associate Professorship on 27/01/2023. I joined Mersin University in 2025. I have great skills and expertise in crop science, plant genomics, the use of next-generation sequencing, DNA molecular markers for germplasm characterization, identification of genomic regions for traits of agricultural interest, and development and validation of molecular markers for marker-assisted selection, particularly in cereals and legumes. I am supervising three PhD and one master's student. I have graduated three master's students and 1 co-supervised PhD student. I have more than 80 SCI/SCIE publications, more than 10 book chapters, and more than 3500 citations as per Google Scholar. I edited four books with Springer as well.
