The Effect of Organic Acid Supplementation on Performance of Laying Hens Reared at Standard or High Cage Density

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effects of organic acids supplementation on body weight, egg production, feed consumption, feed efficiency and egg weight in laying hens at different cage density. In this experiment, 88 Bovans laying hens aged 40 weeks old, were divided into 4 groups with 4 replicates. The birds were placed in to 50x40x40 cm cages in groups of 4, and 7 in the case of cages where cramped conditions were provided. The control groups were fed basal diets and treatment groups were fed basal diet supplemented with 0.2% organic acid (Sal-tech) for 60 days. At the end of the study, cage density did not influence the performance of hens, and greatest live weight, feed consumption, egg production, and egg weight were obtained with hens kept within a standard cage density and fed a diet containing organic acid. There were no differences between the hens kept in a higher cage density (7 birds/cage) consumed eigher organic acid or basal diet

STANDART VE SIKIŞIK KAFES YOĞUNLUĞUNDA YETİŞTİRİLEN YUMURTA TAVUĞU KARMA YEMLERİNE ORGANİK ASİT İLAVESİNİN PERFORMANSA ETKİSİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada farklı kafes yoğunluğunda barındırılan yumurta tavuğu yemlerine katılan organik asitin canlı ağırlık, yumurta verimi, yem tüketimi, yemden yararlanma ve yumurta ağırlığına etkisinin ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, 40 haftalık 88 adet Bovans ırkı beyaz yumurta tavuğu 4 tekrarlı 4 gruba ayrıldı. Standart kafes yoğunluğunun sağlandığı kontrol ve organik asit gruplarında tavuklar, 50x40x40 cm ebatlarındaki bölmelerde 4’er adet, sıkışık kafes yoğunluğunun sağlandığı kontrol ve organik asit gruplarında ise her bir bölmede 7’şer adet tavuk olacak şekilde yerleştirildi. Standart ve sıkışık kafes yoğunluğunda barındırılan kontrol grupları standart karma yem ile deneme grupları ise aynı yeme % 0.2 organik asit (Sal-tech) katılan yemle 60 gün süreyle beslendi Araştırma sonunda, yerleşim sıklığının performansı önemli oranda etkilemediği, en yüksek canlı ağırlık, yem tüketimi, yumurta verimi ve yumurta ağırlığının kafes yoğunluğu standart olan grubun yemine organik asit katılmasıyla elde edildiği, sıkışık kontrol grubu ile şıkışık organik asit grubu arasında performans bakımından önemli bir farklılık görülmediği belirlendi
